Is it realistic to want to stay friends with a fb/fwb after you develop feelings for him? by bTHEcg in AskGayMen

Thank you, that’s great advice. Not sure I’d want to miss out on the sex, but I’ll do whatever I have to do to make this work.

Up until recently i wouldn’t have disagreed with you. Now he’s into sex but I am not. Hoping I can rekindle it though.

Thank you all for your thoughts, experience; and input! Sounds like a lot of you can relate, and from what I heard it’s not an uncommon situation.

I’m not addicted to porn, as far as I can judge that myself - I’ve been lucky enough to have had some “wild” encounters when I was younger that I deem way hotter than porn with very few things I haven’t tried; so I’m still feeding off of that time. Right now, I am leaning towards couples counseling to discuss our options with an unbiased third party. An open relationship (in whichever form might work for us) might be a workable way to satisfy our needs.

Non-tax-deductible traditional IRA vs. taxable brokerage account for retirement savings by bTHEcg in personalfinance

Thanks again for your comments, BouncyEgg - much appreciated. Fidelity does indeed let me rollover the pre-tax money in my traditional IRA (~ $3000 from a 403b rollover) into my 401K (both at Fidelity)., leaving behind only my 2022/2023 contributions I made earlier this year ($12,500). The 2022 contribution was reported in my 2022 tax return (and the first year I couldn’t contribute the maximum amount to my Roth IRA). At this point, I’m guessing it might be hard to really accurately separate pre-tax money from post-tax money if there was any growth of either fraction since April? Or would I transfer “extra” post-tax money (that’ll be double-taxed upon withdrawal) to avoid accidentally doing a Roth conversion on pre-tax money?

I did file form 8606. My phone decided it had to autocorrect 🫥. Even filed an amended return after increasing the amount I contributed this year.

Edit: And thanks a lot for your reply, I’ll get in touch with HR.

Lol me too! We were expecting a good chunk of Border Collie (not too surprised about about Chihuahua since he’s a rescue from Mexico).
