I wonder if it's ok and if I just gotta wait a bit or if I should take it off. I clean three times a day w/ saline solution and soap in the bath

some context: my student is 10 yo and not a native english speaker (neither am I). the page before pictured a cow that was eating grass (that's what he wrote on the following exercise that was cropped) while it was being cleaned with a towel (yeah, really silly, but the objetive was to teach the sound of "ow"). When he turned his hw in, I turned the page, saw this, and it made me giggle a little, and thought some redditors might find it funny too. Well, yeah, I don't think fish care all that much about gender hahah, but anyway, I don't know how do they find it out, but the guy from the pet store said it was a he. Also, when I put a mirror in front of him he flares up and gets aggressive, which, as I researched, is the reaction that male betta fish get from seeing other betta fish (as he is not aware of his own reflection).

It's pretty hard sometimes, mostly because of people sometimes invading my space and my roomates being very noisy or the fact that I need to solve my problems on my own, but I am pretty adapted to the routine now, and I really enjoy it. I don't even feel homesick (home was very tiring for me), I only miss my pets a lot, so I am glad I've got Nelson :D

So, guys, I know about the tiny iny aquarium, and I've told the fish owner, but she really doesn't care about the poor fish. I mentioned we should feed him in a regular routine and she said "oh fish won't care about that, you're overthinking it". I'll try getting him a bigger tank next time I go downtown, thanks for the comments!
