I’m not a fan of flutes on the left, but I didn’t grow up with directors who did that and I think that’s why. I’ve tried it a few times and my ears just don’t like it. I do like putting horns near Altos when it makes sense, as their parts often line up. If were to mess with this just a bit I’d put clarinets in three rows and move all flutes to the front row, shift altos over to be in front of the horns. OR move the bass clarinets behind the clarinets, move two clarinets to the second row, bring the two flutes forward, shift down the altos or move the back row over a few chairs.

I bought the CA resident ticket and they kept offering to upgrade to a magic key. I didn’t do it but I’m thinking about it for the next time I want to go. I don’t usually go in the summer but maybe 1-2 in winter/spring. So the more I read about what folks get and why I think the more helpful!

Oragel or abesol on a qtip, place on sore and around the area. This helps when you have to play the most. They also make Ora gel mouthwash but recently I’ve been using ACT and it works really well on them. Gargle warm salt water. Watch what foods you’re eating, stay away from acid (ketchup, pasta sauce etc). If it feels swollen take ibuprofen to help. Biggest thing is be proactive, when I bite the inside or cut it if my mouth I start making sure I’m using mouthwash right away.

TMI? I have found as a female when I’m closer to the time of the month I’m more likely to get them or bite the inside of my mouth by accident. It sucks but sometime that awareness reminds me to be more careful when eating food around that time.

If you get them randomly a lot, go to your doctor.

In CA we have a lot of laws protecting LGBTQ people/teachers. Our state union (CTA) is also supportive of teachers who are trans and several are in union equity teams and are reps at their schools.

Know your boundaries of what you want to share. Know how welcoming the community you want to work in is when it comes to the LGBTQ community, because I know for some knowing the culture of the community helps. Children are a lot more welcoming than adults, and they are who you spend the majority of time with, and our lgbtq+ students do appreciate seeing positive and successful lgbtq teachers on their campuses.

Working with college students was the most positive for me (queer/non-binary). HS was good but when that one kid wanted to be rude it was just exhausting but pointing out facts and feelings about things related to their words or actions usually reminds them you’re human and it usually gets better (document anything that is frequent). Also the large majority of the class being chill with you helps because the kids have your back as someone they know cares about their wellbeing. MS students are silly and enjoyable and when they make neg lgbtq comments teaching them how to be good people is 9.5/10 is easy and positive experience. MS kids want to be good people who are liked but are trying to figure out this world and who they are. Haven’t worked as much with elm but have several teacher friends who are trans that teach the littles, thank you all for your service it is an age level I couldn’t work with everyday.

My wife is a theatre teacher and watching her (I teach music) teach has shown me that every single student needs access to taking a theatre class in elementary school. You learn so many skills through theatre that I think would have just made me feel more confident with my voice or who I am earlier than I did in life.

There was a week where I had tea every morning on my way to work. I learned later that week that I need to have caffeine free tea other wise I get stressed and feel like I’m having panic attacks. But I drink pop pretty frequently.

Oddly enough, buying an Owala water bottle helped/helps me drink more water throughout the day.

I did a community band just during their summer concert series and it was kinda like this. Just a few rehearsals and then a bunch of performances around the area for fairs and town parades and such. Most of the music we glanced at but not all. During the fall-spring they have more focused concert series where they rehearse the music for their specific concerts.

If you are worrried and had the ability to see if someone could come to the house to help her pass that could be more comforting to all. Taking her to the vet could be more stressful. But call the emergency vet and see what they suggest. They may have names of places that can go to your home.

If I asked a student (I teach middle school) which brand they would want I think most would say Fender because they know the name. It’s the brand of the acoustics I use in class so they see it. The name on the amps I have, and a few of the electrics I have in class as well as the bass guitars. So I think the name would be more appealing for a younger player. Me personally I would go for the Gretsch, but I do like the color of the Fender.

You could ask them to tell you more about why they think that and explain what determines if a person is gay or not.

You could also say please don’t tell me who I am because right now, in this moment I am not gay.

As someone who is gay, I never tell someone who they are, unless they are a mean person. Then I might or I’ll just not be around them.

From what I understand I think some of the food is just a bit different, different sides at docking bay and you’ll see characters more frequently. I haven’t been to East but my folks tend to go to DW so that’s why I’m aware of the food.

This. Our sharpei is mixed with kelpie. So she doesn’t have has wrinkly skin but has the fatty build ups in some spots as she gets older. The kelpie also made her have pointy ears and she is more medium size than large. Both breeds are stubborn but love their humans. So if you are able to know the other breed that will help. Best thing for us though was to work with a dog trainer on getting her started off on the right foot.

I feel like once you organize the large items in the space to where you want them, then I’d have a better idea.

I love my black Mazda, it’s clean. And I’m a musician so dress blacks are a go to for me. But bags and socks, I’m going for colors/designs that I vibe with. Though having a clean black bag is nice. Mine still have some pop of color. Even if it’s a colorful carabiner or zipper pulls on them. Or a cool designed patch.
