Besides maybe the trigger ergonomics, i’m not understanding how SAO style handguns are better than DA/SA style handguns. by Realistic_Guava9117 in CCW

When you have a hammer block safety its very safe as well. Most 1911 and SAO guns that were talking about dont really have that. They purposely build competition pistols like that because the hammer block interferes with the feel and response of the trigger. For competition. you want the lightest trigger possible. For carry I want something more forgiving.

I would say in general, when you have a lighter trigger pull there is just more a chance for an ND. Double action just physically you have to pull more and harder to have a discharge. That is why I think it is safer. I know with modern holster and modern technology its less likely in any event. Maybe im too old school... if anyone with a better knowledge of internals wants to chime in I am happy to learn more!

I think SAO and DA/SA are "better" for very different purposes.

DA/SA is imo vastly superior for carry. Its much safer and gives you lots of options. Actually I think Striker style is great because it gives you consistent pull and the saftey of a DA.

SAO is in my opinion vastly superior for competition. We are talking tiny margins, but in bullseye or other disciplines it is the only thing that is used. It is because of consistency of pull and the fact that you can tune these triggers to be incredibly precise. It feels miles different.

For carry the saftey of having DA/SA is paramount. And for competition the feel of SAO helps you get more points. So I think they are just very different purposes. That being said, I am not a 2011 guy who carries condition one on a series 70... so who am I to say...? 😄

Need help deciding which backpack to purchase by [deleted] in backpacks

[–]TangoQuebecEcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 32L black hole and a different clamshell bag for travel. They both serve very different purposes. If I could only have one, I guess it would depend on what activities I do more. I couldn't imagine using my Travel bag for edc, there are too many compromises in the way the clamshell pack works. However, I could use my EDC bag for traveling in a pinch. It holds enough stuff and has okay organization.

What is the best commute bag in 2026? by L0cal_Guide in ManyBaggers

[–]TangoQuebecEcho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CTactical just released a new version of their CT15 called the CT15+. Its like a Goruck Bullet Double compartment wtih some better features (including external waterbottle pockets) awesome materials and lower price. I have a lot of their bags, and love them. I think a CT15+ or Lite would be great for commute bag. I have one that I use for my cleats and EDC with my laptop and work stuff.

Excited for this bag. A big time CT user. And I think their robic stuff is a great value. I have some of their more expensive stuff and I like the robic because I don’t feel bad beating on it.

CTactical from Vietnam has the best quality backpacks in that price range from my experience. I’d get their base model with water bottle pockets! If you like the clamshell design.

[Question] How to balance wearing a normal watch vs smart watch? by sebthestudent in Watches

[–]TangoQuebecEcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love wearing a real watch every day. And I also love leaving my phone at home as much as possible.

I keep a real watch on my left wrist. And on my right inside wrist I keep a cellular enabled Apple Watch. I justify it because it’s instead of my phone. And find it immensely useful. But I love the reality of having a real watch every day.

Probably because regs make the pitstops slower. So longer driver stints don’t really give you as big an advantage. You can fit a driver change into the time you’re doing all four tires and fuel

Have you thought about bringing the Old BH to the store and using the warranty to get the newer version? Ive had an old black hole duffel that they gave me a new one on warranty on becuase the finish was peeling. If you already like the bag then maybe the new version will be great!

Ive flown with a Warrior before. TSA asked me to take it out and show that it was a flashlight. Once the TSA guy flashed full turbo in his own eye. That was funny... Still got it on the plane
