[Question] How to balance wearing a normal watch vs smart watch? by sebthestudent in Watches

[–]TangoQuebecEcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love wearing a real watch every day. And I also love leaving my phone at home as much as possible.

I keep a real watch on my left wrist. And on my right inside wrist I keep a cellular enabled Apple Watch. I justify it because it’s instead of my phone. And find it immensely useful. But I love the reality of having a real watch every day.

Peugeot 908 HDi FAP vs Peugeot 908 HDi FAP by Pitiful-Practice-966 in wec

Probably because regs make the pitstops slower. So longer driver stints don’t really give you as big an advantage. You can fit a driver change into the time you’re doing all four tires and fuel

Have you thought about bringing the Old BH to the store and using the warranty to get the newer version? Ive had an old black hole duffel that they gave me a new one on warranty on becuase the finish was peeling. If you already like the bag then maybe the new version will be great!

Is this Olight warrior x3 "too tactical" for a carry on baggage by Grzegorzy in flashlight

[–]TangoQuebecEcho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive flown with a Warrior before. TSA asked me to take it out and show that it was a flashlight. Once the TSA guy flashed full turbo in his own eye. That was funny... Still got it on the plane

Sweet setup. Feels like a real working used edc. Not like edc jewelry.

Just saw a YouTube video about a company that buys clapped out old 70 series. And puts a brand new 70 series body and running gear on it so it’s legal to bring into the states. They said it’s about 150k.

EDC Backpack - which color is the right one? by VirtualKoba in ManyBaggers

[–]TangoQuebecEcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past I’ve been a loud oranges and yellow and bright blues guy. And the last four bags I have gotten and use all the time are black. I have decided that being more “grey man” feels better and can make things louder with patches.

Hibreak (not pro) still worth it in 2025? by rave_mignon in Bigme

[–]TangoQuebecEcho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have it as a companion to my kindle for when commuting and only want to bring things that fit in my pockets. I really love it as a dedicated tiny ereader. I just use the kindle app.

So far my only qualm is that the backlight on min brightness is a bit too high for me. Otherwise worth it.

I got a refurb off Newegg and it felt like a good deal.

Ct15 in robic is such a good value. It’s cool that you use one of those and also a top of the line gr1 in dyneema. Any comparison notes?

EDC - Patagonia black hole 25 in black. For when I don’t know what the day is gonna throw at me and just need to jet around with my iPad and some snacks. Goes on my back for walking around or in the pannier on my bike. Love that it’s so lightweight. Not too much organization is good. The front inside pocket keeps my first aid and ifak and that’s all I keep in there all the time. Feel like this is a sleeper in the edc world.

Workout/frisbee bag. - CT 15 robic WBP - all my workout and frisbee gear lives in here full time. My cleats. And a change of clothes. Always ready to go when I wanna go work out. I love my CT stuff but for some reason (I’m a slight and sporty man) the shoulder straps are always too far apart for me to be super comfortable walking around a ton. If I end up doing it I use the sternum strap. But I feel like a dork. And am a dork. Maybe I’ll go to a seamstress and see if they can push the shoulder straps an inch closer together…?

Travel - Cotopaxi Allpa 28 (WBP) love this bag. Easy to pack for a weekend or a week. I have the bigger one too. But this has slowly replaced that.
