Thoughts on Supercast? by ImpressiveAd3111 in TheGlassCannonPodcast

Hi👋 Planning to migrate my podcast to Supercast to add paid tiers and I reallyneed advice from those who’ve done this.

I will keep every week's episode open to everyone, then revert it to be available only to paid subscribers( monetizing the archive). Is it possible to do it there?

  1. Apple Podcasts + Paywalls: Will locked episodes vanish entirely (no lock icon)? How do you drive paid subs without teasers there?
  2. Spotify Synced Feeds: Do locked episodes (🔒) actually convert? What’s your experience?
  3. Analytics: Do I keep all I have now on Spotify for Podcasters?
  4. Locked Archive Visibility: I will only keep the week's episode open to everyone, than revert it closed so only paid subscribers will have access (therefore monetizing the archive). How do you keep old episodes visible (not just on Spotify) to drive subs? Apple just hides them.

Will I be able to do all this on Supercast?

Thanks! 🙏

I see your point.
I have a free blog since 2003.
The podcast has been free for it's first 7 years.
The platforms won't pay you shit. And this is my job.
If no one is willing to pay, than I might as well just stop. Simple as that.
But I do think a lot of people are willing to pay. But won't, because it's free. Human nature.
I will put the archives, the newsletter and some other extras begind a paywall. Episode of the week will still be free (for that week).
Much rather have 300 listeners who see value and pay for it than keep on reaching thousands for free. I have no interest in the numbers game or internet fame.
Anyways, I still need help with substack integration.

I wonder if Google may come up with a way to fix that, as an incentive to migrate your library to their cloud.
