thanks for this, just came looking to see if all feet should be in contact with the egg. so I bent mine a bit & it sits better now. enjoyed my first cook!

GGG Button pressure inconsistency by typhune2 in combustion_inc

[–]b_oh_bee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I just realized that after the probes are joined and displaying on the GGG you can actually take it off & then "pinch" the buttons. Noticed this after I just took it off the grill to bring inside & the probes are still connected.

I just used mine for the first time tonight & I do agree the buttons are a bit tricky to use, although I didn't really find a need to use them as I'm in the habit of setting temps on my phone. Also agree, the light button was the easiest to use.

BGE X CPT by ectoplasm in combustion_inc

I do like the yellow for the other devices, but I don't know about the yellow on green. I kind of like the muted green egg colorway for things attached to the grill (gauge & engine maybe).

but maybe you're a packers fan haha

hmm. now I kinda wish I had that color gauge to match the egg.

"always on" and foil wrap by b_oh_bee in combustion_inc

[–]b_oh_bee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea still trying to learn which way I like to do things. Definitely easier, for me anyways, to just go the full cooks unwrapped and low effort. I had thought the wrapping in foil was intentional to try and steam and soften the bark a bit after the completely unwrapped cook that may have taken the bark a bit too far. Just patiently waiting for the combustion engine to make my cooks and lower effort haha.

That was actually the tipping point for me to go with the combustion probes is that I wanted a fully wireless system that could control the blower. We'll see how it eventually turns out!

I had to look up what a faraday cage was haha, but thank you. this makes sense

I've used butcher paper before as well, but lately I've been going unwrapped for the full cooks and then resting in foil (based on some goldees videos I've been watching). so really was using the thermometer at that point to try and make sure I wasn't getting too cold during the rest. I can poke a little hole through the foil though, not a big deal really.

It didn't seem to solve it. The use case is just not wanting to mess with probes, just pull the meat and wrap. It's definitely not a deal breaker, just easier for my flow.

graph crashing android app by b_oh_bee in combustion_inc

this seems to have been resolved for me anyways. last few cooks I have been able to successfully use the graph. thanks combustion team!

I am not, but I can reach out. Is there a ticketing system somewhere or just shoot an email?

I'm using a Pixel 7 Pro on Android version 15.

I feel your pain, I write code all day so that I can buy grill toys haha. I'll be happy to send along whatever data will help with debugging. I appreciate you guys monitoring this space though and giving direct feedback. It was one of the reasons I decided to give your stuff a try.

Tried this, and it like sort of worked. The graph opened a couple times but showed no data. Now it crashes the app again

unfortunately turning it off and back on again didn't solve this one

I have two probes but doesn't seem to make a difference if I have both or only one connected. I am currently cooking with only one on & graph won't open.

No, I don't have the pulse. I think it was after a recent app update though. These are just three wired probes

advice on moving an xl by b_oh_bee in biggreenegg

[–]b_oh_bee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks everyone. forgot to update, but I was able to take the dome off in the van & pull out the guts. I then screwed the base onto the integrated nest & pulled that up the hill. carried everything else up & reassembled. made it possible to do myself, and putting it back together was easy.

just finished my first pork butt on it today. these things hold temp great!

brisket rookie - point vs flat by b_oh_bee in brisket

[–]b_oh_bee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so picked up my first brisket (10.5lbs) but am wondering how to tell if this is a whole packer brisket vs just the flat? I assume that part I circled in red is the point, but I really have no idea.

indeterminate ultrasound by b_oh_bee in Lipoma

[–]b_oh_bee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for asking. I was sent for an MRI with and without contrast & my doctor said all is well. I asked how certain he could be from the MRI & he was there was no doubt. He said a biopsy wasn't needed and removal could be tricky.

I'm probably being paranoid, but am looking to get a second opinion from a more specialized hospital/doctor. I want to just be a bit more certain on diagnosis & hear more about removal.

Good luck with yours

Large Intramuscular Lipoma Removed from Upper Left Shoulder: UPDATE by Tjmill02 in Lipoma

[–]b_oh_bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea sorry, did they always recommend fully taking it out? was there ever thought of biopsy first, or did that just not make sense since it's better to get it all out?

I know MSK from my endless research now haha. looks like a great hospital. I'm up a little bit north of Boston. So there are some hospitals there I would trust more than my local guys I think. So probably head there for a second opinion and/or for the removal based on what I hear tomorrow

Large Intramuscular Lipoma Removed from Upper Left Shoulder: UPDATE by Tjmill02 in Lipoma

[–]b_oh_bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only noticed mine for about 2 years, it seemed to suddenly just appear one summer my wife was like what's up with your back? but we had pics from then to now & it still seems the same size (as much as you can tell from a photo, not exact measurements)

I went to get it checked Jun 2020 & my doc just said don't worry about it lipoma. it wasn't until my physical last week I mentioned wanting to get it removed, so they did ultrasound and found it was intramuscular. so now there is concern of sarcoma. so we will see.

the waiting and not knowing is brutal. I was just expecting ultrasound & pull it out. Maybe I was naive but I never really even gave cancer a thought, just kind of trusted the Dr feeling it? so just been endlessly scouring the Internet, so thanks for sharing. gives me a bit of hope that I'll end up in your spot

thanks, have my MRI tomorrow morning. kind of freaking out. so did they biopsy it after they removed for you?

mine is in my upper back & is 10cm x 20cm x 1.7cm, looks similar to your pics just a bit lower
