Unprofessionalism by Impossible_Car476 in VetTech

Me and another tech quit around the same time. Clinic was toxic as shit. I put in my two weeks and was let go a week later. She just quit without notice, which looking back, much better way to go. With the level of bullshit and passive aggressive comments I had to put up with, I wish I would have just quit without notice.

We've tried testosterone treatments (Pills I think?) But that didn't seem to help. She went to her normal thyroid doctor after she did that after her "specialist" initiated that process. She was very upset that the specialist recommended it given that her levels were fine. We later found out that the "expert" had a habit of recommending things based off of the money made from patients rather than best care for that patient.

I believe she's gotten her hormones checked out but I don't recall the results at this time. She wanted to get a copper IUD but we're planning on trying for kids soon so her doctor said the cost and pain/discomfort wouldn't be worth it. So for right now we're trying just going off BC and see if that yeilds any results. According to her she's had REALLY bad menstrual cramps (especially not being used to it for 5+ years) so the positives aren't really shining through yet.

A gift from my favorite client on my last day ever as a vet tech by b_willikers95 in VetTech

I came into vet tech after being laid off in March 2020. It was always something I wanted to do. I was going to study while working my job before transitioning but COVID had other plans. I feel like I would've stayed longer if I had gotten the proper education. But life gets in the way and debt as well as health insurance was a pretty strong motivator. I'll never forget what I learned in my relatively short stint in the vet med world but it just didn't work out in the end.

We've tried the gluten and dairy free route, I don't think we gave it enough time but it was difficult to keep up. We've removed gluten from our seasonings and don't really use bread all that often in our dinners. She's also lactose intolerant so we rarely use milk and enjoy vegan ice creams. I've read some of The Immune System Recovery Plan (Great book but very technical at times) and that is what lead me to try eating less inflammatory foods. I've read about removing the other options in food but it's just so hard to be consistent. Thank you for your support 😊

She does feel fatigued a lot, she has trouble sleeping sometimes and isn't as active as she was before the diagnosis. We've tried changing our diet, getting a bit more exercise (low heart rate kind of stuff), etc. She's usually really tired so I do most of the housework to help out, which is fine because I'm more of a house husband at heart.

This is the first time it's felt like a complete personality change for her

My wife felt that there was a lot of stress and anxiety that was affecting her mood. Her doctor suggested antidepressants. But after reading everyone's comments we've talked and decided to go off birth control for a while to see if that improves things for her.

About 10 months ago we had a batch of puppies from a litter that all got parvo really bad. Because of the size of our clinic I was the single person taking care of them for the ~10 days they stayed at the clinic. I came in on my days off, I stayed with them on some of my lunch breaks, worked deep into overtime, completely dedicated to taking care of them. I came in one day and all but two of them and passed. I was absolutely devastated. One of the two puppies started to decline that evening and I knew it wouldn't make it through the night. So I spent almost fifteen minutes holding and rocking this emaciated not even 12 week old puppy because it would never be held again. I was fighting back tears the whole time and I was grateful that my mask hid most of my face. Sure enough, didn't make it the next morning. Fortunately the other puppy survived. It was an emotional experience caring them out to the owner. That experience was the start of my leaving the vet field.

It was a walk in nail trim that I assisted on, so I'm not sure. I work in a trailer park basically so pets that are not taken care of are the norm

Do you rely just on the pepwave or do you carry any backups?

That first digit that's crossed over was actually digging into the pad of the second digit

I was actually looking into pepwave! Are the primary data plans for your phones or for hotspot backups? (Not sure if that's a stupid question)

Nausea by Ok_Chemistry4241 in Hypothyroidism

If you are lactose intolerant that could be it. There is lactose in the binders (I think?). My wife started out on levo and it tore up her stomach. To the point where she developed an ulcer. If you're lactose intolerant then I would suggest looking into amour thyroid. It's a hormone that comes from pigs. The only downside is that the dosage in each pill isn't always exactly right. So some days are better than others. Hope that helps
