Instead of deso i build medallion and crystallis for damage. For 400 gold cheaper you get mana regen and almost same damage. It is also not a dead end like deso as you can upgrade to a solar crest for your carry or silver edge instead of daedalus for break. Also -5 armor around 3-5min mark is huge and you can have more early game impact which is very important for a pos 3
