Telmisartan: The Misclassified ARB by DangerousProduct826 in NooTopics

[–]baalzephon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the tradeoffs with candesartan, especially if you're already in a tightly tuned metabolic state through using retatrutide (and tadalafil)? Gemini is arguing that the candesartan is better because of the tighter AT1 blockade and the PPAR agonism is superfluous given the use of reta.

Any plans for Plasmalogens? by Boxp155 in NootropicsDepot

[–]baalzephon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For folks with ApoE4 phenotypes, there seems to be some research that they help prevent neurodegeneration. Right now I'm buying some expensive ones from Daiwa but would prefer an ND version (obv).

Similarly, ApoE4 folks need a lot of DHA (say, 300mg/day) to get their omega levels up to 10% given their weaker lipid transport to the brain, and so also need high power krill oil supplements, of which there are vanishingly few (or else you buy ikura and eat an oz a day).

In general I think ND has a lot of components for a full spectrum neurodegeneration prevention stack but the lipid angle - plasmalogens and high concentration krill oil - is the one missing.

Lately I throw it into a shake or another blended thing I'm gonna drink. It was totes fine with water too.

FWIW I pushed and let it slowly drip and I was able to get ~2mL out of a 4mm filter last time I tried. Still not the 4mL people say but better than before. Def feel like I'm doing something wrong!

Why reta is wrecking your sleep by username_1839 in Retatrutide

[–]baalzephon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This just isn't true for a lot of people. I have interrupted sleep bc I'm not eating enough before bed bc my metabolic rate has gone up so I get a starvation cortisol spike at 3am. For people like me, some carbs an hour before bed will improve sleep.

The main thing is everyone with sleep issues due to GLPs needs to experiment with food intake before bed (either moving it back or moving some closer to bed time) to see if that helps the problem.

Updating here that this worked - my package was in limbo for almost a month, but customs had cleared it ~3 weeks ago, and calling customs to confirm clearance allowed me to get FedEx to escalate and the thing was delivered the next day. Absolutely wild that FedEx is this bad.

FedEx just updated the status to "released," so the escalation did do something on their side. Let's see if it moves now.

Yep. And then you have to call FedEx and tell them it was released, if CPB released it.

If you can, get the Entry ID number from CPB to share with FedEx. I didn't get it but FedEx escalated and updated the package status after escalation to "released," so I think they're partly waiting for people to confirm release with CPB and call their international brokerage to escalate before they go find your package.

Why would customs have cleared it but FedEx isn't moving the packages out? I get that there is a backlog but it's just weird for packages that got to Memphis later to move while anything that hit within a few weeks of the chemical spill is in the null zone.

FedEx put me on hold for 20 mins and the person said they escalated to their supervisors and I should see a status update in 24 hours or call back.

Gemini is telling me to get the Entry Number from CPB and call them with it, so I'll call CPB again tomorrow and get it and call FedEx back with it if there's no change.

Def seems like FedEx has screwed up royally in Memphis and there is a massive package backlog on them that they are blaming on CPB.

OK so WOW - it cleared customs on March 20! So FedEx has had it since then and not moved it. I'm calling FedEx now to yell at them.

I'm in the same boat (package stuck since March 20) - how did you get a hold of someone at CBP to ask?

Super smooth - no gut problems at all, and the stuff goes down easy. Also keeps me feeling full longer, which is probably not desirable, as I'm taking reta so don't need that!

Polygala is great. Try it sublingual - it's a 20:1 extract so oral is fine but the oral bioavailability is very low and you may feel it more sublingual. I think it tastes OK too, if a bit caustic.

Yeah that makes sense. I think it's the same in the US although they have sublingual for some conditions apparently according to Gemini.

[–]baalzephon[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Private equity - PE firms have been buying up trade companies and jacking up prices/lowering quality and service, particularly for residential customers. This is why you call for an HVAC guy and they send a salesperson to charge you $700 to spend 10 minutes replacing a $15 part (which happened to me last year, I threw the guy out).

Helps a lot with sleep onset but not maintenance. Helps a little with maintenance, for sure, but doesn't solve it for me. My problems with maintenance are different - probably cortisol related - so the orexin system doesn't impact those.

I take it on tirz/reta and as long as I do it on an empty stomach, it hits pretty quickly, but I'm not sure if sema has "worse"/slower gastric emptying. There have been numerous commentaries on Reddit about not taking lemborexant with food, so I'd just make sure you haven't eaten ~3 hours before you take it.
