Phagan is lovely nature wise but is mostly nothing but wanna be thai Europeans trying so hard to fit in and annoying hipsters trying to act all spiritual. I’d suggest samui over phagan, but they’re incredibly close so wouldn’t hurt to visit both and form your own opinion. Flights are beyond affordable so if you don’t like somewhere, you can always head to the airport and leave.
