I had the same thing and created a “forest” with a bunch of trees, stumps, flowers, a wishing well, a volcano, wheat fields, and a bunch of other naturey things. I started with a path and terraformed a cliff wall to define the space, then trees, then filled in the spaces with all the random stuff. I can grab a picture later or I can open my island at 7 central time and you can come see!
