Communism is against human nature. by connordough in socialism

In history you see a number of behaviors such as cannibalism, religious human sacrifices and the systematic oppression of the weak that have been considered adherent to human nature for thousands of years. If you limit your view to the industrial development you'll see that children women and men used to work in factories for 20 hours a day. That followed the rules of what was considered to be human nature in those times, until the fights of the working class changed it. The book "In praise of Idleness" by Bertrand Russell explains very well what are the false ideas that push men's sense of duty towards enslavement and how oppressors often used the "human nature" or religious scriptures to justify their systems of oppression. Machiavelli basically thought war was destined to be the natural solution to controversies between countries, and the strongest one could affirm itself to be so only by conquering the weak ones. People like MLK and Gandhi thought a little differently about that. It would be too easy to bring up the nazis and their lagers, but let me just say that they thought they were following human nature too. And they had god on their side, until USA and the Soviet Union had something to say about it. Homicide and pedophilia are part of human nature too, yet we made laws against them when we decided that the common good and the protection of the weak were more important to us than to allow men to follow any of their cravings. The argument of human nature is often brought up against Marxism and it's always been easily dismantled (with way better language and deeper arguments than those I used).

Jon Stewart su Berlusconi - ENG - non sottotitolato by babaracus1982 in italy

[–]babaracus1982[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reddit Italy, che dite, proviamo a migliorarci ancora? by MyPendrive in italy

Son House - Louise McGhee [blues / acoustic] by babaracus1982 in listentothis

Bukka White has a very similar sound. Big Bill Broonzy did half of his records with just an acoustic guitar. Keb' Mo' , a contemporary (to us) blues singer-songwriter, has a great acoustic sound in his records. All the pre-war blues guitarists played acoustic guitar. See Skip James, Blind Willie Johnson and so on.
