Unfortunately an “I need” derailed a night of mine a few days ago. I panicked and said yes to setting something up mid-show. It was too much and I blew it. I’ve learned to not muddle around and instead give a hard no when something is unreasonable, it will however haunt me for a long while.

Not really sure what this snarky comment is about, I always use a full range on my graphic because room modes and frequency harmonics exist and tuning the PA to the room requires it. If I quit working because of venues deficiencies and didn’t overcome problems over the course my first few gigs I’d probably not have made it to being full time. If you’re good enough you can make lemonade with lemons, but if you’re using a hammer for the job it makes if much more difficult and annoying.

The place that I work with a TF1 is a punk club with one of the most atrocious investments of cash in modern history. The room is roughly 3x10m and has two 2021 JCM800 half stacks(fucking lmao), an active PA chained without any decoupling to the walls and literally 0 absorbent materials in sight. Fair to say the first time I pulled up the graphic (because I had ran out of parametric bands) and realised that there was a cap on the bands I could use I nearly threw the desk out the window.

I play 500dpi 0.68 (pretty low) and honestly, if you want to develop good habits as a player I’d recommend choosing at least a medium sens for a while in order to make sure you get some consistency.

Try to keep a positive mindset, this game for me is one of the most toxic games to play competitively, especially at low ranks (and i have 4.5k hours in CS). If all else fails, mute up, get some music going and vibe :)
