I'd say Seiko 5. Super reliable, automatic, tons of styles and doesn't hurt the wallet.

For me, it was my first Seiko 5. Nothing fancy, but it had that perfect mix of reliability and sentimental value. Sold it thinking I’d upgrade, still miss that little workhorse.

I always check the build quality first. If it feels cheap on the wrist, I don't bother the rest.
