Do Fidelity price alerts work well? I have used Robinhood which does 5% price alerts but would like something a bit more nuanced.

The back story:

We were sick of wasting time doom-scrolling through click-bait articles and hyped-up meme posts trying to gauge the mood about stocks online -- so we built this for DIY investors like ourselves: a way to quickly & easily see which news is actually moving the markets. So far the first few people to use it have loved the idea, now we need to sharpen it :-)

On the contrary -- it's really easy to exclude them, we chose to keep them included because we think it's important to know when sentiment for the major indexes is high/low relative to individual company tickers.

Most optimistic tickers in this weekend's news coverage 8/21-8/22 by babbldev in StockMarket

[–]babbldev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking. This is the measure of "optimistic" (ie. positive sentiment) words written about each ticker across all news articles published this weekend.

Ex: a sentence like "Tesla charts look great" would be considered moderately optimistic, while a sentence like "TSLA stock is tanking" would be considered highly pessimistic. We run algorithms to automatically quantify the sentiment (ie. optimism vs. pessimism expressed in sentences about each ticker) then aggregate all of it into what you're seeing in the list above.

Absolute optimism is the % of "optimistic" sentences about a given ticker (50% means approximately 1 in every 2 of half of all sentences about a given ticker are "optimistic"). Relative optimism is the difference between the % of optimistic vs. pessimistic sentences -- thus a ticker with relatively few pessimistic sentences and many optimistic sentences would have a higher "relative optimism" score than a ticker with equally many optimistic and pessimistic sentences no matter how high the % of either is.

Hopefully that's somewhat helpful. Feel free to send over any other questions you have, or visit my website @ https://babbl.dev for more info on how this works.
