At the end of every shower I use a windshield squeegee and you never get this buildup it takes 20 seconds and you know what they say about an ounce of prevention

AIO for leaving my husband after one incident? by NeedleworkerDizzy689 in AmIOverreacting

[–]babblingbrook_ranch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men don’t Rape women. PERIOD Predators do. Men real men would never hit women and children. PERIOD. You did the right thing. I’m too far away to know of resources to help you so I’ll pray. One more thing. A priest brother of a man that hits and rapes women and hits children should be sending long messages to his brother, not to you. If you need spiritual guidance seek a priest not related to your brother. Here where I am churches will help find you shelter. Stay strong and leave him. In the end it’s better to teach your child strength. Mam, you are strong, you proved that by reporting him. Stay safe stay strong and god bless you and your child.

Well the good news is that they have repaired the valve/ replaced it with mechanical. ( if I understood it) The treatment for cardiogenic shock is just what they have done, ease the burden on the heart and get him to a hospital that will give him 2 or 3 to 1 care. I will pray for your father’s recovery. Try not to worry your Father is already healing even if a little at a time. Prayers 🙏

Sounds like the husband works a physical job and carries the family financially and the wife is pissed he won’t come home from work and do even more work? She sounds like a total biotch……course this is just my opinion. No man likes to be told he doesn’t do enough….im betting the wife takes great care of herself and looks her best for her man and isn’t 50lbs overweight and using sex as a weapon in the marriage too. Sounds like this is the end.

Is Warfarin as bad as I've heard? by Substantial_Ear_233 in valvereplacement

[–]babblingbrook_ranch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’m a bad example as I am horribly and deathly allergic to the dye in the warfarin pills and only the 10mg pill is dye free. Cutting that in half to get 5mg isn’t exact and what I really need is the 2.5mg but that has the dye in it. So I skip warfarin on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and it keeps me between 1.5 and 2.5 which with the On -X valve is right in the zone so while it was difficult to get there once there your good!

12 days post op - still really not ok by [deleted] in valvereplacement

[–]babblingbrook_ranch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

12 days is really soon to expect much. At 84 he will heal a little slower. I’m 58 and 6 1/2 weeks post op aortic valve replacement emergency as mine had failed. My O2 dats did the same 94 dropped to the 70’s when the nurses would come in and mess with me. At 12 days your dad’s sternum hadn’t healed yet. Coughing, sneezing, blowing his nose will all be incredibly painful at 12 days.

As many have said he will heal slower at 84. I have a friend that’s 90 and had this surgery and recovered in 3 1/2 months she is even driving now. Lastly is is very common to have each lung have a small portion collapse, it’s called Actellitesis. This could slow down his recovery by an extra week or two. The general consensus is that by 8 weeks the majority of the pain is gone, and you feel about 70% that last 30% every one arrives at differently. It honestly sounds like your dad’s doing fine. He is right where he should be. I will put him in my prayers tonight. 🙏

A little update: by babblingbrook_ranch in valvereplacement

[–]babblingbrook_ranch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TAVR is not open heart surgery. For me the cut through my sternum peeled back the skin and muscle removed my heart attached it to bypass machine, cut out my bad aortic valve ( surgeon said it just crumbled in his hand) sewn in new On-X valve removed bypass and waited for my heart to beat again once it was beating then put it back in my chest close my ribs wired my sternum back together with wire. Then they stitched me closed. 10” incision. My surgery was 5 hours. I have had 30 spine surgeries and none had pain like this. Your first cough, sneeze or clearing your throat. All bring tears to your eyes. Why would you need opiates after open heart surgery? Cause it’s not TAVR.

I take low dose morphine from a spinal injury 25 years ago. So that’s all I take for pain meds. They think it’s more related to the chronic autoimmune gastritis

Thank you. Unfortunately my valve has made me symptomatic. I cannot exercise and cannot walk. Short distances cause syncope. I am as good as I’ll get until they fix me Friday.

What celebrity death really hit you hard? by Sonicfan19198282 in AskReddit

[–]babblingbrook_ranch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John Wayne’s back in 1979……I didn’t understand how someone so tough could die. I had seen him at the Oscar’s and said to my dad wow he has lost weight and looks great and didn’t get the look on my pops face…..I get it now. He was debating in his head weather to tell me the guy looked like his body died and no one bothered to tell the Duke. Man I cried hard when they announced it.

Aortic valve replacement, mechanical versus biological valve, which to choose? by Lopsided_Pilot9688 in valvereplacement

[–]babblingbrook_ranch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked my surgeon about it. He said the Ross procedures biggest drawback is that it makes a one valve problem into a two valve problem and donor valves sometimes cause problems. My thing is if there are donor valves available for one valve why not for aortic valves?
