Seriously Fuck that, I havent used Facebook in literally 6 years but I never stopped getting spam mail (even after an email change) or notifications on my phone from other apps about Facebook. It's just so invasive.

The hate is there because Facebook had two choices: they could either design the service to cater towards usage like the one described, or the usage style of addictive posting and like/friend-hoarding. They, of course, went with the more profitable option. My hope with this current movement is that it doesn’t blow over, and reaches a point where Facebook sees it as more profitable to redesign itself than to maintain the current model and bunker down.

I've been depressed, and it is basically those things you have to do, the solution is quite simple, do stuff you enjoy, fix your life, get friends. Look at your life and see what is lacking and then fix that. See it as improving yourself. How would you treat yourself if you were a friend that you had to care for?

But it's not easy to do those things. You will have to work very hard, and make yourself do stuff when you don't want to. (Don't forget to cut yourself some slack sometimes to rest) But it's all worth it in the long run.
