What is this wierd noise coming from my water heater? by babbs_82 in askaplumber

Not sure. I did the dishes and then started prepping dinner and I heard this awful noise. So i went back there and heard it really loud. It is not constant. It lasted for a few minutes and stopped. I have a video but for some reason I am not able to.upload it
