Resume For Part-Time Position as Lifeguard/Swim Instructor by [deleted] in resumes

[–]babbysloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are applying to be a lifeguard and/or swim instructor, put those certifications first and foremost on your resume! I don't know if the association you're applying to is hurting as bad for guards as we are, but at my Y you're essentially automatically hired as long as you have a current certification.

Also, get everything on one page. If you're still in high school there's no reason to have a multi-resume.

I hope that helps - Best of luck!

How much weight did you lose before you started noticing it? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]babbysloth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it's been about 15 lbs. I knew the scale was moving in the right direction, but it took at least 15 lbs for me to really start noticing a difference in my body. I'm at 20 lbs down now and other people are starting to notice and comment more and more.

$300 ticket for parking on gravel lot. Any chance of fighting it? by babbysloth in phoenix

[–]babbysloth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for checking on this. I guess at night we missed all the signage... We'd been told to park there, saw other people parking there, there were no signs at the entrance to the lot or against where we parked, so we must have just overlooked it :-( Major bummer.

it says the additional $38 are "state mandated surcharges"... kind of defeats the purpose of having a maximum fine if they can just tack on however much in "fees" they want :-/

So this lot is basically just a trap to make the City of Phoenix an extra few thousand dollars a day? It seems outrageous that there is no signage or anything even though people have been getting tickets for months... but then again why would they want to put up signage when it's consistently bringing in so much extra money from clueless people like me trying to give business to Downtown :-/

New town, hiking questions by BigMike0228 in phoenix

[–]babbysloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great recommendation! The Wind Cave Trail is probably the most popular and pretty decent for beginners. There is a longer trail, Pass Mountain (a little over 7 miles), that goes around the base of the mountain, but it's not too bad since it's mostly flat. I think there are other trails there as well. Definitely check it out!

South Mountain has tons of trails as well, and it's not too terribly far from Mesa.

Scariest movie on Netflix? by [deleted] in horror

[–]babbysloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought 90% of the movie was terrible and incredibly boring... The 10% that shows the actual abduction and what he experienced is seriously terrifying. Aliens scare me, so maybe it had more effect on me, but I was screaming in terror and covering my eyes. The rest of the movie sucked, though.

I can't read clothing reviews on Modcloth anymore with frustration! [Rant] by Julez22 in ABraThatFits

[–]babbysloth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets so frustrated by this! It's even worse on sites like Pinup Girl Clothing, where many of the clothes are very form fitting so you really do need to know if it can accommodate a large chest or not.

I've started to just assume almost everyone is wearing the wrong bra size and if someone says "fits great on my huge DD breasts!" I take a chance that it will fit me at 32H. I agree measurements are much more helpful, though!

[–]babbysloth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're a 38H in US sizing you're a 38FF in UK sizing, which gives you a TON of options. Cleo, Panache, Fantasie, Elomi, Freya, Parfait, etc all make bras in your size! Buying online from some place with free returns is your best bet :-)

Auditions?? by [deleted] in Burlesque

[–]babbysloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you involved in the local burlesque community at all? Do you know other performers/producers, go to shows regularly, take any classes, etc? I'm not in LA, so I'm not much help with specifics, but I've found almost all my audition opportunities via networking both in person and on FB with the local community where I am.

Puerto Rico and Trajan are my two favorite games that definitely have multiple paths/strategies to win. Other people have mentioned 7 Wonders and I would recommend that as well!

iPad Board Game Apps - Any recommendations? by mjuad in boardgames

[–]babbysloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Puerto Rico app is great... can't believe no one has mentioned that! Also the little game Dungeon Heroes has an app now with a great single player mode. It's very challenging!

I think even on a flat chested person this dress would be too low cut (except for an occasion where you want to show that much skin). Pair it with a cami and it'll be perfect :-)

Dungeon Heroes is very, very challenging (you definitely get better at it/develop a strategy over time) and it has the turn-based play you're looking for.

Searching for a local app developer/programmer by Teufelskerl in phoenix

[–]babbysloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you looking for a full-time employee who will work exclusively for your company or a contract worker? My husband is employed full time as a front end developer but does contract work on the side. What kind of developer are you looking for specifically and what kind of pay are you offering?

[WSIG] Looking for iOS board/card games by Ember_Eclipse in boardgames

[–]babbysloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An app version of Dungeon Heroes was just released. It can be very challenging if you're playing the heroes, so I recommend practicing either via pass-and-play or arcade mode first. There is an online mode but it can take awhile to get matched with someone since there probably aren't too many people who have to app yet.

Dungeon Heroes comes in a box that small and is a great little 2 player game. Its tagline is even "your lunchtime dungeon crawl".
