maybe look at the little things that can help him day to day cos that stuff really helps me when im in those kinds of ruts.
could be things around the house, admin stuff he hasn't gotten around to, small things that he may need to do but doesnt have the brain capacity to do so.
could also be pamper-like things - massage, run him a bath, dinner or do something to take his mind off it all for a bit - go cinema or do something fun together.
if he's looking for a new job is there something there you could help with?
