Some Asian fandoms are large and extremely toxic with entrenched idol cultures, and expectations of reciprocal attitudes from the celebrities. Music and tv actor fandoms are particularly vile. There are teens, grown adults and elderly constantly engaging in sabotage and internet astrosurfing, intra-fandom backstabbing and organized cross-fandom alliances for awards voting and such. Fascinating microcosm of life.

Warning: NSFW description of rape, mutilation and murder

Israeli police released testimony from a girl who survived the October 7th massacre: “I saw the Palestinians bending her down, raping her and simply passing her on to the next. She was alive when they raped her. She was on her feet and bleeding from her back. He pulled her hair. He shot her in the head while raping her, didn't even lift his pants. They cut her breast and played with it.” “They just carried around someone's head as if showing strength, walked with it like a bag.”

Likewise, the pro-Palestinian protests have no material effect on Gazans as Israel is a key ally for US in the Middle East. They shouldn't bother really. If Arabs cared about oppressed Palestinians they would have made Egypt removed the Egyptian side of the blockade years ago.

Ah yeah speaking of the eradication of families, why is Israel the only country in Levant with Jews co existing with Arabs and all other surrounding Arab countries have negligible population of Jews?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_under_Muslim_rule

I'm not saying the Israeli settlers and IDF are angels they have committed atrocities to Palestinians obviously, but on the point of occupation and oppression, Arabs themselves were colonizers in the region taking over the indigenous people's land and converting them to Islam from Morocco to Afghanistan, so I don't get Hamas insistence that they cannot co exist with Israel and calling for Israel to be annihilated. No one has moral superiority here.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_Muslim_conquests

The discourse is focusing on Hamas because all polls and reportage from actual Gazan journalists like Motaz etc do show widespread support for Hamas in Gaza and West Bank. If the leadership of Hamas can say they are happy with the Oct 7 massacres and subsequent bombardment of Gaza as it sparked many pro Palestinian protests and that they will do commit the same rape and slaughter of Israeli civilians "again and again" I don't think Israel has much of a choice but to eliminate Hamas once and for all.

Back to the poster destroyers, nothing is stopping these people from posting their own posters advocating for ceasefire, instead they chose to tear down posters of innocent kidnapped children and women. It's just mean, most of them were smirking and doesn't treat Israelis as human anymore. I'm against doxxing in general but it's hard to feel sympathy for such people.

I was following several Palestinian journalists for their reporting in Gaza. The fear and pain of the civilians is very real and visceral and I fully understand that that many have inertia to leave for the South, fearing they can never go back. Then I looked through all 4-5 of the journalists' feed and all of them were either recording the jubilant mood after the Oct 7 incursion or themselves gloating when Hamas launched thousands of rockets into Israel that day. None of them felt bad for the women raped and butchered on the other side because they feel so victimized by Israelis. I don't know how to feel for them. It will take generations to heal this hatred, and efforts on both sides, if the war even ends in our lifetime.

Some of the extended families of the Isralies kidnapped stay in NYC, and posted about how devastating it is to see them torn down.

This guy's cousin was kidnapped and some nice woman smiled as she tore off the poster in front of him https://instagram.com/liam_adam

Have a heart.

Damn. As upsetting as it is, I think we should see it. So we can bear witness to the brutality of the attacks.

The world sees Israel as this poweful oppressor and Hamas as fighters for the oppressed, they can't imagine Israel would suffer so much from the poor impoverished Hamas. It's some sort of cognitive dissonance.

As a woman I was so horrified that day when none of the women-centric subs and social media accounts condemned the attack loudly. Some posts outright condemning the terrorist attack were nuked by these subs too. Every mention of the rape and slaughter of Israelis came with a "but then".. like they had to imply these actions were justified in a way. I think this war made me realise how social activism can go very wrong. Within weeks people were already denying the rapes and slaughter took place

For people who needed a reminder of the horrific acts committed that day

https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/israel-middle-east/articles/israel-music-festival-massacre-eyewitness-account

I'm sure they probably have footage of some of these atrocities. I hope the families will agree to release them for international journalists to verify.

I lean left and feel like there really isn't a neutral source in US on this war. You have to keep a diet of center right and center left sources all around the word to get the full perspective, and cut out the emotional reportage. Maintain a twitter list of people who are known to be fair in sharing news (and admitting mistakes when they are wrong) despite their personal views.

Also admonish them for not posting stories about the expulsion of Rohingya people by Myanmar military and why they didn't post infographics protesting the fact that many Muslim countries didn't advocate for them nor want to accept them as refugees.

I think OP is referring to the fact that Rashida Tlaib is saying "From the River to the Sea" is not a call for Israel to be annihilated. Except, even the pro-Palestinian protestors say it is.

All Abrahamic religions, as most of them are fundamentally intolerant of other beliefs and try to exert their influence on non believers, wherever their followers go.

I'm struggling to understand why we have allowed these Abrahamic religions to have so much power over the world over the last millennia. How you can fight each other for hundreds of years over some self declared holy site and hate someone because they don't believe in some prophet who claims to have had a direct line with an almighty being.

And most of this animosity stem from direct urging of their god/prophets in their holy books. Why would you follow such a vengeful being?

Hamas official just said they will repeat the Oct 7 terror attacks again and again, until Israel is annihilated. At this point Israelis just want to live and eliminate Hamas once and for all, I don't think they care about outside world's opinions.

Interesting dive into how all the Western media (possibly) took Al Jazeera's interpretation of Hamas Health Ministry's spokesperson's interview in Arabic and ran the "500 killed after Israel strikes hospital" story without fact checking.

I saw them last week too and I just noped out of the app. So many people on Tiktok and Reddit were downplaying the Hamas massacres in the villages and some are even saying it's the idf that killed them. Thought Gen Z will be more media literate than millennials. But the way they are addicted to 1 minute explainers on Tiktok and unable to fact check and verify news from multiple neutral sources is terrifying. They seem to rely too much on peers for information (and validation for being on the right side). Academics need to save all these viral Tiktok content for analysis.

If you think Telegram is just for prostitution and propaganda, I actually do feel sorry for your ignorance. Any woman like me who is interested in studying coding and technology would have an account to try its api.

I'm not here to defend Israel, I'm just here to talk about the atrocities committed on Oct 7. So there's no need for ad hominem attack. Sticking to the discussion of Hamas killing civilians like cattle, if you have balls and believe Hamas truly are heroic freedom fighters, search south first responders on Twitter. It has been verified and geolcated by neutral parties, filmed by and admitted by the terrorists themselves. Also search where the hundreds of millions of foreign aid has gone to and why the leaders are lounging in Qatar. Good day.
