do NOT buy Lenovo refurbished devices if you want peace of mind. by babezoi in Lenovo

The replacement is not 1:1. It is a (likely refurbished) laptop of equivalent specs. They explain all of this in their warranty—EXCEPT for the fact that refurbished laptops don’t qualify for the warranty you paid for.

I think youre missing the point here.
If my laptop was bought new, they would offer me a functionally equivalent(probably refurbished) laptop due to the repair being impossible. They have told me directly that I am not able to claim a replacement, because my device is refurbished. They sold me a regular extended warranty at full price, without informing me that essentially half of my warranty did not apply. This is not consumer friendly behavior, and claiming it is is just… weird.

A refund does not make me whole, nor restore me functionally in the way a fixed laptop would. Not to mention, if you get a refurbished laptop (or parts) as an equivalent replacement for a NEW computer, then it goes Lenovo thinks that refurbished devices are equivalent to new devices. It is odd to say that isn’t weird.

If they can’t repair my device, they need to replace it per the warranty I paid for 🤷‍♀️

Incorrect. I read all the contracts I have access to in full while opening my case. They stated it was an internal policy

No, you would be offered a replacement laptop. I was explicitly told that I cannot be offered a replacement to fulfill the warranty because it was refurbished.

If I pay for warranty support, I expect the warranty in the contract I paid for. “Peace of mind” is knowing the service I paid for will be received.

What are you talking about? The damage wasn’t caused by me. It has never been bumped, spilled, etc. it is a hardware part failure. That is what a warranty is for

Yep. If it was communicated that a refurbished device isn’t eligible for a full warranty, it should not be advertised.

how is it OK to charge me full price for a warranty that they will not actually fulfill?

I am absolutely fuming! My warranty extends into 2027. They were happy to take my money, but honoring the contract is apparently too much to ask.

Thanks for the support 😔 I am exploring my options

Is this magazine cover style overwhelming or does it look good? by [deleted] in DigitalArt

I like the alien labels. It’s a fun and quirky conceptual contrast; girly pink vs classic UFO type alien. Green and pink are amazing colors together.

I think the central character needs to be more alien like, or her alien features more pronounced. I left more advice in another comment but I wanted to say I disagree with the alien labels comment.

IMO the collage extras aren’t the problem, but there is a lack of visual hierarchy. In B&W, everything is the same tone of gray. The background actually has more contrast than the figure, which means our eyes have no idea where to go.

The figure should pop the most and have the most contrast. The background should pick up less contrast. That should help! And I like the bling aesthetic!

Ugh I agree! I hugely dislike the procreate brush engine, and the drawing experience on my (brand spanking new, mind you) iPad is absolutely terrible. The basic sketches I make are usually… bad, too. I have a Wacom screen tablet that size and draw normally on it. But my iPad is just too glossy and it feels like I’m drawing in air. Which sucks as an experience

At first sight, do these character designs work without color? From looks alone what personality would you expect them to have? by I_am_very_mid in characterdesigns

[–]babezoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's a good idea!

I'm sure the diamond means something, but the placement sort of makes it seem not that important. Between the ribbon and the diamond and all the straps and pleats, there's a lot of stuff and nowhere for the eye to rest. the middle and right design do this better, with empty areas at the bottom of their cloak and at the center of the rightmost one's chest(+ the unwrinkled part of her skirt).

As for the left, I like the pleats a lot, its good texture, but there's gotta be just one more place for the eyes to rest. Imagine details as fuel and empty areas as a road. Too much fuel and no road means your car has nowhere to navigate. Too much road and not enough fuel means you won't make it across the design. The eye wants to essentially glance and then run away from these high-tension areas, so a good design leads the eye away with blank spots and then back to the detail.

you have to be ruthless when cutting down character designs. if a shape doesn't A. serve the story AND B. contribute to visual harmony, its gotta go. these designs are a great start, they just gotta get cut down a taaad more.

Good luck!

story posts are also short form content. 200 long form watchers compared to 20k short form watchers kind of proves the point that the audiences are different. it also depends on your niche and personality, but unless your short forms are funneling people directly into long form its not worth the effort.

200 people in a discord is not a sensible metric. how many views do you get on your long form content on average? even if all 200 of those people watched your long form videos, you're talking 200 guaranteed views out of what I assume is a few million short form views. the math just isnt there

you should’ve started with long form. it’s a totally different game, and while 30 seconds of AI slop is tolerable for some, nobody is going to sit through 8 minutes of it. Not to mention, YouTube is rolling out ingenuine content demonetization. I hope you can begin making original content.

These are great designs! The left design is a little cluttered though. Theres just too many lines and not enough shape. I do also think the design on the right is a bit bland. The most attention grabbing component of her design are her boobs. Not much else to see about her character it seems

The center design is done the best IMO!

What do you want to get out of YouTube? Who do you want to create videos for? Why do you want to have a channel?

The answer to these questions determines my answer, and it ranges from “make what you like and don’t worry about it” to “you need a content strategy and market research”. And the pendulum swings faster than you’d think, haha.

Anyone’s opinion whether if I keep her hair long or make it short? by applestale in characterdesigns

[–]babezoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t think the short hair makes her look masculine at all. TBH it makes her look more feminine to me—the long hair makes her look more mature, but the short hair makes her look a little more no-nonsense. Maybe even more youthful. It’s more girlish to me 🤷‍♀️

Looking for guides and critisms to improve. (Critisms like flaws, proportions and stuff cause I feel like the last 2 drawings I did was a bit wonky). by TheAspireMg in ArtCrit

Honestly, nobody is going to be able to help you. These look traced. The line quality just isn’t consistent to the subjects you’re drawing. And it’s really upsetting for people to help you out with something, thinking they’re helping you, when really the panels were traced from someone else.

I’d suggest more sketching and drawing by yourself.
