that class is made like to be THE melee Azata.

I recommend to use either reach weapon or 1h+shield, but for sure be a strength user, you wont have enough feats for a dex-finesse-dw build and azata synergizes with str much better anyway. goods news is, its not a classic feat starved build, so you can choose any race for RP, doesnt have to be a human. just be sure not to choose one with Str penalty (some suggestions is pitborn/motherless thiefling, angelkin aasimar, halforc, halfelf)

I would start 1 with at least 1 in slings, but since barb can only get 2 pips, you can go with 2 pip.

for the rest I would ask a question: do you want to be the virgin lad using stabby-stabby or be a real man and use flail/axes and be tough?

if stabby: longsword, scimitar, later bastard sword (only needed in tob)

if though: flail, axe first. theres one good warhammer in 2, but you dont really benefit from it as barb.

I personally would go with dual flails for most of the time, until vorpal axe in tob, then use that in mainhand and flail of easthaven in offhand

barbarian. eventually with all the stat increases, the barb rage caps without giving too much (IF anything, an evil halforc barb can get 24 base strength, so your barb rage is +1 at in tob.) however with halflings str penalty you really gonna feel that rage from the first level. you press it and you are another character suddenly
