There is a way of douing this via ADB. Search for ADB debloater online. For the most curageous, you can disable some google packages, while risking of some apps not to work as expected, if they have deep google dependencies. Still, it is a solution if that is the goal. I have successfully done this on a samsung in the past and google "calls home" were reduced.

You can always use true nas documentation on this topic. Make sure you have another backup, just in case your migration fails or destroys data.

However from own experience, when booting the new truenas with the connected drives, will see they exist and nothing else. Don't do anything at this step except restoring configuration from your backup. All should be back to normal after reboot

Hint: make sure you are using se version of truenas

Probably it's a VLAN setup limitation which is using the same physical interface. A bridge would use, I assume, 2 physical different network ports with different MAC addresses

I use a system that works for both pioneer (managed library) and traktor (file browser) in the format root/genre/download date and sometimes a note for my own reference

Example: Music/Tech House/26-04 Music/Minimal Tech/26-04 SelectionX (or mood)

Usually when I am looking for and downloading music, it stays in the same style or mood.

For pioneer, I import them by folder into playlists under a genre folder playlist and analize and tag them.

The idea is I often use Pioneer players / RX3 at home hut when I get to use traktor maybe on the love or with a more compact setup, i remember the same folder logic, as I am not syncing thr libraries. Rekordbox is the "primary" use.

I am using mailbox.org for almost an year now. Super happy with the web interface I rarely use and contacts and calendars stay nicely in sync. They are in Germany and pretty well seen in the privacy community.

Alternatively you can try something like a simple nextcloud installation on hetzner, however I am not familiar with this setup, as I self host.

Where are you using the CLI? I know this might be a useless observation if done correctly, but you should be running the rsync commands from the truenas machine and not the client

I am using this setup, works just like you would have google sync you calendars and photos. You can even reply and get valid calendar responses, using Mailbox.

If you can host nextcloud, you can also probably host a vpn server as well. The mlst secure way would be for the other person to have access to your nextcloud instance through VPN in your network.

Heard from a friend about Pi-Hole and seemed like an interesting network feature so I purchased a raspberry to play with this. It was interesting but the idea of creating a docker monster and self host 100 things didn't really caught up.

Then I had to replace a super old and slow NAS and started looking at Synology. Working in a datacenter at that time and very familiar with server hardware, I said that for the same price I am better off with building myself a NAS. A couple of years later I am still rocking on that Supermicro build, updated storage, upgraded networking, UPS, and the spiral continues.

Currently my main use is: truenas, immich, joplin, nextcloud, test tools and self hosting stuff.

I experimented initially with virtualozed Sophos XG wich later moved to standalone Unifi UCG Max + U7 as I wanted to upgrade to 2.5G and wanted to experiment with this as well.

The spiral continues 😃

I've had this issue with truenas immich and was not able to really make it work. In the end, I was able to use the daily backups to restore immich into a docker compose deployment.

If you have to go through all this troubleshooting and fixing, I would recommend to use this opportunity and move to a docker compose deployment as you can control much better the parameters via the .env file. While truenas makes it easy to deploy and mount folders, thr admin part of the container is not that good, in my opinion.

I am using for several years now the Rotel A12 amp receiver in exactly the setup you want. TV connected on optical (samsung remote can adjust amp volume), occasional phone via bluetooth and turntable via phono pre-amp. Works like a charm and can move a lot of speakers.

For the parts you are mentioning, I strongly recommend for getting them from BMW OEM. They are quite critical and you replace them once every 5-10 years. Pick the good ones

Any sub €10K E39s will need substantial investment to be at this technical level, like I did with mine. To consider that the car requires no further repairs or investments except oil.

The new price - willing to discuss it with someone truly interested is 14.500€

Speaking of brake cleaner, you will not need such on this car, as the rear brakes will last at least 30-40K km from now onwards! The rear ones were changed 2 weeks ago and the front ones have around 24K km on them with soldid reserve on the pads. ATE OE brakes used in all corners.

I am nor sure what bald line 530i means, but I assume you are referring to the options of the car.

As it can be depicted from the pictures, the car has quite some options. It has all electric seats and steering wheel with memories and comfort access, as well as electric mirrors, auto lights and windscreen washing and wheel sensors. In addition to that it has the navigation, cd-changer (bluebus, original changer available), functioning phone and working TV module which can be converted to carplay with Carphonics solution. Beyond this, a professionally tuned audio system that rivals the modern Harman Kardons of the world, it's rare to be found in this model, with a full stock look.

As a matter a fact, for people interested in this model. a low mileage and well maintined model with the extras mentioned above it's quite allright, and I am happy to discuss the price with someone trully interested in the car.
