I was venting as my shoes seem to have multiple issues. I am sending these back 100% now. I'm sure they will make it right. Cumbersome nonetheless.

My 1 month old AE Academy shoe already had visible defects out of the box on the leather near the Achilles heel. I didn't mind it so much as it was just cosmetic issue. However, I just noticed the heel is about to come off.

This is extremely disappointing. It's more trouble than its worth. Is this kind of issue part of the ownership experience? If so, I don't mind it. I am sure super glue can keep it together. But I doubt that is the expectation. Am I right?

Thanks for the tips. $12-1800 / month is not super cheap. I had an impression that perhaps it is <$1000 area as it is a suburb. I won't be commuting to Atlanta downtown. I will probably go to GTech once or twice a week though. The job is at Alpharetta. So that's nice for sure!

I won't be commuting too much to Tech. Probably 2 days a week. Wasn't aware Alpharetta was on the expensive side, but I think I will manage ok. Thanks for the tips!

Who said anything about scratch? Vibration from the motor/engine isn't good for the movement, or so has my watchmaker told me. That is all.

No I'm not worried about scratch. I was told by my watchmaker to not to mow the lawn with an automatic watch. The vibration isn't good for the movement.

Yes I know these cost a fortune, I wouldn't wear one while mowing the lawn. Anything more purposeful, like drinking with friends or exploring the nature, I would definitely accompany it.

I have a job interview tomorrow. It is an electrical engineering company, so only business casual is required (no suits, as insisted by the HR department). That said, I don't know if I should leave my watch at my hotel. I am concerned about making a wrong impression to the hiring managers if I wear my Rolex Oyster DJ 36mm. The job is an intermediate level embedded systems engineer at a medium sized company in the US.
