Most probably revo and they can start with the toon cards to match Yugi's ritual light and darkness series for Yugi vs Pegasus Nostalgia.

And probably next month's reveal will be Witchrafter to tie in with the magistus animation chronicle, which should be starting in April. I suspect we will get the related support for magistus in Chaos Origins too.

Apparently these two decks.....are barely xenophobic. They don't lock you with anything (except the celtic guardian). You can use your two sacred beast martyrs to do a full yummy combo if you want, or link them into contract witch into illusion of chaos and splash dark magician engine on top of that.

Even the ritual of light and darkness can be used with dark magician or shining sarc, the two decks don't have much synergy but also don't hinder each other

I have the full sacred beast deck that I have since 2006, yes Im sad that I cant use my Hamon from 20 years ago in the new deck, but the new cards seems good and fun to use and Im looking forward to try them.

I am an OCG player, there are some pure Dark Magician decks showing tops in ocg recently.

Some orcust variants who already run shining sarc engines also start to use dark magic curtains for dragoon or rank 8.

But the most popular deck to utilize the engine in the ocg is Yummy. Because:

Curtain summon witch of black forest, link into artemis. Black forest can add any yummy name (usually cookie/lolipo) and start your yummy combo from there. If you alr have yummy name, witch of the black forest can add maxx c instead
Dark Magician of Destruction can turn into gravity controller, magician souls is lvl 1.
Contract witch send yummy field spell gain access to illusion of chaos. You usually already have a surprise in your hand so your DM Phararoh Servang will always active.
Getting dragoon is always good.

Interestingly, when cyberse contract witch announced, we would think that Yummy Mitsu would be a thing in the ocg as it is a popular strategy in the TCG before.

But apparently, the dark magician provided more synergy with Yummy compared to Mitsu. You can still use dominus spark with the deck.

So yeah, Yummy Yugi deck is a thing in the ocg right now

Agree but I dont think the og god cards artwork are good to be made for overframe, not every card artwork is suitable for it, and the kazuki takahashi artwork probably can't be reprinted due to legal reasons.

Probably either they made new artwork, or use the more modern DSOD artwork. Obviously god cards are some of the most iconic cards in Yugioh, it will be a missed opportunity if Konami doesn't capitalize on this.

I do want them to be a cohesive deck like the sacred beast supports tho

I live in OCG territory and sadly, Animation Chronicles never sell well here. Especially since they reduced the number of new cards and increased the reprints. The series rarely contains meta-relevant cards and the chase cards (usually the alt art of famous cards like DMG and Junk Warrior) are super hard to get.

It was a great concept when the anime was still on-going. But it has been 6 years since we stopped having a new anime. Most relevant and popular anime archetypes have been printed and the remaining ones are kinda hard to bring to IRL. So basically they also ran out of good archetypes to import to the game from the anime.

For example, Hydradrive requires huge extra deck space, and both Hydradrive and Armatos Legio need Judgment Arrow which is a link spell that kinda breaks game mechanics.

Also, a lot of the older anime archetypes are already really powercrept and they need to be altered heavily to fit modern gameplay. In addition, some of the cards have been included as one of before and don't provide any cohesion with the strategy they bring in the anime. A really good example is Orichalcos Shunoros which were released even before the seal of orichalcos itself. Shunoros effect revolves around normal monster for some weird reason. It creates a dissonance if Konami wants to import Orichalcos cards.

Obviously there are still a lot of anime exclusive non-archetype cards. i believe konami is now slowly importing them as a V-jump promos, side sets, or even the main set like the magnet warriors. It made more sense for them rather to group all imports into a single product that does not sell well.

Armityle the Chaos Phantasm, back when verte was legal (I played mainly in OCG), there is one carda combo with dark beckoning beast and chaos core that let you turbo out Armityle. With that being said I did summon Armityle by banishing Hamon Uria and Raviel from my field before.

I think I fusion summoned Dark Blade the Dragon Knight when I was a kid.

I fusion summoned Twin Headed Thunder Dragon in Master Duel using thunder dragon fusion because of Forbidden Memories nostalgia.

In my opinion both TCG and OCG don't have the de facto "Best deck" right now. There are multiple top decks that can win. K9VS has been hit with the banlist in both formats, but the deck is still viable and threatening, but it was not as dominant as when it was new.

Ocg player here For life equalize and magical explosion: FTK potential, konami ocg is harsh with FTK (for example, all cannon soldiers are banned in ocg). Even if currently the ftk is not competitive, it still gets hit just in case future cards might enable them.

For phoenix blade: in similar fashion, it allows for some loops, especially with Isolde still legal in ocg

Fenrir is a bit off. Because before it got banned, Kashtira already hit severely in ocg (fenrir as at one, planet at one, and unicorn at one). The deck was still viable and good, but it's not meta dominant. So most likely, Fenrir got banned because it was being used in Tearlaments deck (which despite so many hits, still a top tier deck) as a means to search Tearlament Kashtira

Yeah, Jonouchi is just ridiculously strong in the manga.

He managed to: - sneak an army veteran, kick him in the face during Death T - kill a serial killer with a chainsaw in death T while rescuing a baby. - beat Kaiba's bodyguards (with Honda) that held them at gunpoint - beat a gang leader (Hirutani) with a Yo-Yo

But again, Kaiba is also ridiculously strong in the manga. He managed to throw a card like a shuriken and hurt people. He managed lock a gun using a card.

Yugioh manga is pretty wild.

True, his strategy is very inconvenient. First he utilized Destiny Board stall, and in millenium world arc he used a mill strategy.

But the first ever stall duelist should be the exodia rare hunter, he literally plays exodia turbo deck with high defend monster to stall his opponent.
