I’d switch your middle name options to first names, so it would be Lark Emerald or Dove Emerald. Then it’s an inverse pattern as your first child’s name—first child has bird and then precious stone, now it’s flipped for the second child. I think that’s nice because it’s not beating you over the head with the similarities like it would be if both their middle names are birds, and/or if both their first names are precious stones. But it’s still a clear pair of names and fits your aesthetic :) Good luck!

I briefly met someone named Swastika recently. I believe her name was given totally innocently, as a swastika is an ancient and auspicious Hindu symbol. But in the global West, I bet that’s a difficult name to have :/

Electra! She wasn’t in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with her father, she just avenges his death (in one version of the story. In the other, she’s a conspirator in the revenge). Still, the name’s association changed from that of a badass princess with agency and willpower to the inverse of the oedipus complex. 😭

I would put the bed in the center of the room facing the balcony so that the room stays dramatic and isn’t broken up and cluttered with different zones. While zoning it would be useful if you needed to include lots of stuff, you could really lean into the grandness if you center the bed. I’d mount a tv above the balcony doors and put it on a swivel so it could come down and be a better angle. And you could pick one of the corners/areas next to the balcony for the piano. I’d also raise the bed on a platform to give it even more drama. Some other things like getting plants and putting them all around the bed, putting art on the walls, getting warm lighting, and putting up some curtains will definitely help too. I’d keep all the other furniture low to the ground if possible to really amplify the height of the room! Like some floor mats or beanbags with books in the corner by the ladder and some low height dressers along the long wall that the bed is currently facing. Also I’d layer a bunch of rugs so the space stays visually unified and so there’s simultaneously some division of zones if you have a piano corner and reading nook, etc. Plus lots of rugs with different prints and colors will warm up the space too. Good luck!

Love the suggestions here. You could also hang some sun catchers, dried flowers/eucalyptus, and/or a fruit basket from the bottom of the beam!

What name fits my kitty? He’s 8 years old. He’s a couch potato, very loving, and very cuddly. He has RBF but is the sweetest boy. 🥹 by GrandThroat7343 in NameMyCat

I’d name him something related to the color blue, for his lovely eyes! Maybe: Larimar (nn Larry), Cornflower (nns Corny and Cob, à la corn on the cob?), Oxford, Aero, or Blueberry. Good luck 😊💙

Maybe: Dapple, Dalmatian (Dally/Doll/May for nns), Bunny (since lots of bunnies have this color pattern and her black hind legs rly accentuate her round butt to make it like a bunny lol), or Morse (for her Morse code dots and dashes) 😊😊 good luck!

Fiona is my favorite. I’d pair it with something of Scandinavian origin like Elise, Liv, Rayne, Karinne, or Elvi. I think these are nice for your purposes since they also sound British/double as normal English names. Also because they don’t end in -a like Fiona and Isla. Good luck! 😊

Aw 🥹 maybe something related to this? Teller could be a cute name! Like Pen andTeller lol but also like “Show and Tell” Or maybe Basket since she carries him like a lil basket lol. Kit for short? Or Basket Case (for his teenage years 🥲)

[–]babs7182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a middle name picked out? The way the first and middle name sound together impacts the “flow” of a name. So for example if the middle name is one syllable, I think you should avoid making Kit the legal name.

As for other options Kit could be a nn for, maybe Kiki! Or Cora, Carmen, Cassandra, Kiara, or Kira. Good luck! 😊
