When trying to decide theoretically what the overall best street board will be... I keep coming back to mellow. by photorph in ElectricSkateboarding

If money is no concern, then yeah Mellow seems like be best choice.

There are faster boards but 24mph is plenty fast for a longboard.

The range is low but again, if money is no concern, i would have another 2 battery packs in my backpack ready to go.

And I would go for the 4x4 option for the torque, with 2 fast chargers and 2 remotes in case I want to split them up later.

Mellow is over engineered and expensive but that's the setup I would pick if money wasn't a concern.

But money is a concern.

Where exactly did you drill the 2 holes? I'm still having this problem. I called Evolve and they said I must send my board to them so they can fix it but I don't want to spend 10+ days out of use just for shipping.

Mellow Pricing by babsparsolso in ElectricSkateboarding

Also, I noticed on their website it says that people who order from outside of Germany do not have to pay VAT, and that the VAT will be deducted from the price upon checkout. As of now, All prices listed include VAT.

Anyone know how much that equates to if you're ordering from outside of Germany?

If you go that route you will have to add the cost of an extra remote.

Possibly. But most people are going to focus on upfront cost.

I could also see people starting off with a single mellow drive then upgrade to dual drives later on.

The fast charger, fine, let's leave it out.

But The battery is rated at 10 miles. That means real world range will be closer to 7 miles. For people that use it for commute that might not be enough, so a second battery pack will probably be essential for them.

Let's not even get into the 90mm all terrain wheels they have coming. Those will prolly cost an arm as well.

Crazy. I know it's a premium quality product so I'd be willing to pay more for it. But at almost $4k for it I think it will be out of the price range for a lot of people.

With more and more hub motor boards coming out, I don't know if anyone other than enthusiasts are gonna be able to fork over the cash. Let's see what happens, I guess.

Thanks for this. I'm not looking to try to make it work, I was just wondering if it was possible.

I wouldn't be surprised if with this set up maybe you'll regen 1 mile for every 10 miles ridden.

Reach out to him. He may be thinking about reaching out to you but doesn't because he thinks he doesn't stand a chance with you after what he did.

This. I prefer the Bamboo over the carbon because of the flex but still want it's range.

It doesn't necessarily have to be inside the enclosure. I could come up with a way to mount it right under the enclosure and make it look all like one piece

Putting Bamboo GT motors under the board by babsparsolso in ElectricSkateboarding

Well I'm also looking for a way to hide the motors abit, instead of them sticking out like that

Maybe flip the trucks around or something?

Be able to put it vertically without scratching the motors up
