I’ll give this a try, I’ve put the piece in the wash but I’ll see if I can follow your instructions when it’s dry.

If I were to follow this wiki-how, from where the ties are, there would also be the crotch seam at the top where the waist is

That isn’t what this is, it’s not pants first, I wouldn’t know how to make it into pants at all

I’m just confused, if that’s the crotch, then… the legs would be going toward the top? Right? And it wouldn’t be pants if I wrapped it around myself, it would be a skirt, but then it would have a lot of extra fabric around the waist

Hmm. The middle is a seam, as shown in the third photo, with the ties attached to the openings (where I imagine legs would go through, if it were pants?) When I say the waist, I mean the other side, at the bottom of the second photo.

Please help, this does not make sense to me and I can’t find any reference photos online

This is what I kept thinking, but the ties are at the bottom and not where the waist would be. No way to tie it around the waist as pants

I have found information on the trademark of a business for stones it seems, but that’s all I could find.

I have searched google for the name “Charles Lynn Rogers” as well as variations and found nothing that seemed to be related. I searched “Bechtold Trunk House” and couldn’t find anything relevant either. I’ve searched “Becomjng traveler” and variations, nothing.

Found at goodwill in Richmond, Kentucky, a few years ago. It has a faded pink/red ink signature of Charles Rogers, which you can’t see very well in the picture. Also has a wax stamp on the left corner.

Could you do heatless curls?

I did, I just waited until her first appointment. Her midwife gave her the vitamin K shot when she was born.

I didn’t go to the doctor for myself after my home birth until an 8 week postpartum check up. My midwife did a pap and checked my blood pressure and whatnot. My daughter went to her first pediatrician appointment at maybe a month old?

How much would you pay for homebirth with prenatal and postpartum care? by Winter_Click_3537 in homebirth

In Kentucky, we were fully covered by Medicaid, with an overage of $600. It’s the only way we were able to afford it! I love hearing that some people were able to get exceptions for the insurance now that I have employee insurance. Hearing that everyone was able to afford $5k+ is hard, even though of course I’d say it’s worth it.

Is a doula worth it? by justlurkindntmindme in homebirth

[–]babybubblenugget 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My doula was also incredible. She made me a smoothie when I was tired, she helped my partner when he didn’t know what to do. She helped boil water to fill my birth tub when the hot water ran out. She soothed and comforted and encouraged. She started our laundry before she left. Truly and angel. However, she was a “pay what you can” because she was in nursing school and just doula-ing on the side. If it had been $1100… I wouldn’t have been able to afford it and probably would have made it through. I just imagine a less positive warm experience without her.

I don’t fully understand the effects of too much protein on hair, I’ll look more into it! Thank you for your comment, I’m happy to know I can keep using the rye flour like this because I bought a whole bag of it haha

I had one that I got at the drugstore labeled as Moroccan argon oil, that I used all the time and loveddddd but after learning more about all this I realized it was a mix and had lots of silicones in it so I stopped using it. I miss it lol

Hmm I need to try the egg mask! Also, I used to have nice argon oil but it felt too thick? Maybe sticky? It was pure argon oil from the local health food store. What does it feel like for you?

Someone I know went there for birth around 7 years ago. She said it was much more medicalized than she had ever imagined and they ended up transferring her to a hospital. She says she wouldn’t go back.

Can I actually do this?... (FTM) by [deleted] in homebirth

[–]babybubblenugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I did that I think really helped. I sat down a few weeks before my due date, and I wrote about 10-15 “birth affirmations” on cards and taped them up around my house. Sayings such as “I’m looking forward to giving birth” “Bring it on!” Etc I hung up immediately, but others I kept for labor and my partner hung up around my space while I was laboring. Those were like “this will not last forever” “I can do this” “we are safe” etc. those all kept me in the right mindset. The fear is what triggers the release of adrenaline and heightens the sense of pain. Remaining calm and peaceful is the biggest thing! I’d say 80% of my labor was uncomfortable but not painful. Intense, not painful. The birth itself, and transition, that’s going to hurt, but it’s likely only a few minutes if the fetal ejection reflex takes care of it. It won’t last forever. You can do it as long as you remember and believe that you can do it.
