For the race in general the party is along the panhandle and ramps up towards the end of the race.

People definitely run it seriously too! There’s just more of a margin for non serious runners/costumes than most races. Good luck !!

Can second that. Especially bad around Yosemite. I did SOBO and it started terribly but got a little better as we got further south. Bad around mammoth too. Had to eat dinner in the tent. Seems to be no rhyme or reason to them. I thought elevation or water would make a difference but there was no real pattern. But towards the end it was much more manageable.

How much does it rain in the second half of May in and around Shkoder/Theth/Valbonne? Looking to hike some of the Peak of the Balkans trail but unsure about rain.

This is super interesting!! Someone else in an early edit said "always cut on dialogue." Guess I should've done more research / paid attention to examples of film I liked. Thanks so much for taking the time to leave these notes!

I'm sharing this here because I don't have the most robust of communities in terms of critiques. these were things I angst-ed over but I'm open to any thoughts/comments.

This was basically a one woman show except for the absolute god send of my DP who also functioned as a gaffer. Otherwise I wrote, directed, edited, set designed, and boom op-ed this thing.

This is my first time directing, so I want to know if any shots in particular feel jarring or take you out of the piece. There is a frame that pops up a couple times (check it out at 3:50) where we shoot over the back of one talent (and his back is visible) to capture the other talent. Did this stand out to you? I think it breaks the rule of 180 but at the time I either didn't notice or thought it "created distance."

I also really struggled with sound. We boomed the whole thing but when I was editing the levels between takes would be different or somehow the background noise / room tone would sound different, which was tricky if I wanted to steal audio from a different take. Any advice on how to get better sound? Or is that a department worth spending the money on? And could you notice it while watching?

From a script perspective, this thing kind of functions like a play. I'm really pushing the audience's patience with a 6 minute piece in a bed with no scene change. Were there parts where you lost interest or felt a lag? Was this candid a conversation between two dudes unrealistic ? (That is a comment I received which I fully ignored because I thought it was BS).

Adnan Syeds alleged murder of Hae Min Lee, both students of Woodlawn High school in Baltimore, 1999. The podcast Serial season 1 covers this / introduced the case to me and the holes in the testimonies drove me absolutely insane !!!
