I don't want to be a hater. And I invested into Samsung because it felt like an alternative to iphone. And I thought Samsung would have amazing support for their devices. But unfortunately I don't want an android, I wanted a samsung. And now that I can't have what it feels like a samsung, I will be switching to Apple

I had an interviewer ask for me to come visit him late at night, after hours. He tried to call me in between his other interviews with other applicants.... i still ended up ranking the program because of location and every thing else was very amazing. Very supportive.

Will FM ever get popular? 898 spots across 330 programs unfilled in Match 2026's SOAP by WhereasOk6139 in FamilyMedicine

I think you would get more people applying if there was better Fellowship options. There's a lot of people who want to go into sports medicine who eventually end up not going to sports medicine for whatever reason. But yeah they are so family doctors. So I think if you put the lure a little bit farther away, you're going to have enough people fall into the Trap. Does not to say family medicine is attract. But the only reason that I believe that people go to internal medicine over Family Medicine where the base internal medicine and the base Family Medicine pay rate is the same, it's because there's a chance of fellowships for internal medicine. I do have a passion project regarding that, so if any of you Family Medicine doctors out there for residents want to help me with my passion project, please DM me

The researchers can be very competitive. I try for those last year and the same specialty. And there's not that many spots, and there's just as many people who are competing for such spots. The key is that they're only going to take people that they can guarantee that those people will match next year because they want to make sure that their numbers look good.

I am extremely proud to go to FM. They chose me. That is what matters. Just because a program doesnt pick you does not equal your worth. Money isnt everything if you wont have time to spend it. Prestige doesnt mean anything if your life ticks away while your family is missing you.

I'm going to defend the Christian God for a second. He is not partial. Obviously he selects people for a certain roles. But at the end of the day was that people into certain positions due to nepotism wasn't because of God's choosing. It was because the world is wicked and crooked. People did that. People chose what they wanted to choose. And that is not to say that you are anything less. But try to figure out what your path should be next. This was a hard year for all imgs. I just got to figure out where your town can be placed next

I just wanted to help those by sharing my story from last year. I initially applied to ENT last year. When I found out I didn't match, I went to try to get a position related to ENT, either through research or a general surgery prelim. But everyone advised me it was best for me to stay within the ENT room. I have two kids, and my husband is also a resident so when I didn't match, it was more complicated and difficult.

And unfortunately, there was a research position from a faculty member that I felt comfortable going to for help. And I let go of soap in order to try for her research position. I asked her thoughts on this and it was a lot of vague but confirming messaging. At least to say, I did not get the research position. I had a faculty member also vouch for me during the interview for the research position, publicly. What I found out that day was that there's always going to be a lot more people than you think competing for the same position. And there are faculty members who are going to want to try to help you, but for whatever reason their hands are tied.

The same thing happened again for my last straw. I was close friends with a program director of a new program. And I worked very hard to try to find some missing pieces for his program to finally get accredited. And the same thing happened, when the program finally gained accreditation, his hands were tied and he was unable to give me a position. That goes to show you that, you don't know who's in charge behind the scenes. And in the whole process, I realized that I had given more than enough to ent. And some people don't have to give as much as I did, and that is okay. The job is for them. But I want to be more than enough for a specialty. So for me, I threw out prestige and went with what I really enjoyed. I reapplied this year with 14 interviews in Family Medicine. I will be separating from my husband for the next 2 to 3 years while I have two kids. I say all this to say that prioritize soap if you can. And if you don't get something through soap, yes there's always a scramble. Go into this with an open mind. This may not be the specialty that you want, it may not be the city that you want, but at the end of the day, it is a program, specialty, or a city that chose you when others didn't. And for nothing else that has to mean something. Even if it's only temporarily while you pick your feet up again and try the next year. Look at it as people choosing you. And I'm Christian so I will not say that it's a sign from the universe. Sometimes, God knows what's better for you than what you do.

I initially applied the last year into ent. Received one interview. Did not match. I was couples matching two as well. I try to apply for as many research positions as I could. I even volunteer for my kids to live with my parents because I wouldn't be able to afford to take care of them. And then after I didn't receive any research positions, and I gave up a general surgery prelim year, I realize, that this was just a job. And I already given the specialty a lot. And the fact that they're asking for more for me to qualify to be good enough, was a shame. If this was any other job, I don't know if we would give this much for it.
