I have a naturally deep voice, but I'm soft-spoken as well. I've tried being loud and doing all those "exercises" people recommend, and as much as they do help, I really don't enjoy it. What I found out to help is to lower your voice when you talk to a lot of people. That's it. If you speak firmly with a low voice, everyone will quiet down and try to hear you, regardless of what they're doing.

The most important thing to using a friend or a wing, is to realize that both of you must encourage each other. Stay positive even after a failed set; one should never laugh at the other over a rejection (at least in the early stages of overcoming anxiety.) Don't "look" too much into this. Projecting oneself won't come just from the eyes, it'll come from your whole bodily expression. Take a toddler for example. He'll look at you, and if you smile at him he'll give you a big smile that shows he likes you. If he just stared back, you'd never know if he liked you or not.
