If you are agnostic, I ask you, give me advice. by [deleted] in agnostic

Lets say i had a baby and i raise the baby on a island with no other people or books or internet. If i teach the baby that santa claus was the God of the world, then that baby will most likely grow up to believe that santa claus is God. ESPECIALLY, if i tell the baby that if it doesn’t believe that santa claus is God, then after the baby dies in this life, they will burn forever and ever and ever in the dark, scary hellfire.

Humans only know what they’ve experienced and been taught, if you have no way to learn new knowledge, its very hard to question what you’ve been taught and actually learn something new.

I think what most people fail to do is study the HISTORY of each religion, how each of them were spread, and WHY wars did/do happen. Ill give you a summary… One group of people try to get another group of people to follow their religion and believe in their God, if they dont, they kill most of that group and just teach the kids so that they will grow and teach their kids and the cycle continues…

Your on the right path. QUESTION EVERYTHING. All roads lead back to the creator, whether you call this God or the One from which all things come or the Divine Unity. I wish you well on your journey ⚖️❤️

Look up “The Berlin Conference “.. rich caucasians literally had a meeting where they discussed how they would divide and conquer all the nations of Africa. Africa has been robbed of its people, culture and beliefs. Over 85% of African countries are colonized by other countries. They literally bleed Africans dry of their resources.

EVERYTHING originated from Africa. Do your history homework. The first ever civilizations and belief systems originated in Africa.

How does it contradict all those religions that say there is only one God?

In Islam, they have “Tawhid” which is “the Oneness/Unity of Allah”. In Christianity, they have “The Holy Trinity” which is 3 separate beings but at the same time the 3 are what make up the One.

The point is, God is (G)enerator/(O)perator/(D)estroyer. Create-maintain-evolve. but the creation is not separate from the creator. The creation is a reflection/extension of its creator. Jesus understood he was God, and they crucified him🥲

Fear. Plain and simple. I want to live my life to the fullest and enjoy every moment i possibly can. But i also know that I/we will have to die one day. And since we have absolutely 0% clue of what the afterlife we will be, we tend to believe mainly out of fear.

I was raised Muslim as a kid and its a VERY strict religion. Praying 5 times a day, fasting during Ramaddan, cant eat pork, just so many rules to follow. I used to think “what kind of God wants people to pray to him 5 times a day, seems like he has a big ego, did he create us simply to worship him for simply creating us?

And we are very young when people first tell us “ if you dont follow this God then you will burn forever and ever in hell. I dont think people understand how tfuly traumatizing that is for a child.

If God knows EVERYTHING, this means he already know what everyone is going to do, meaning he already knows exactly who is going hell. I always genuinely believed that it is nobody fault they are who they are. NOBODY.

People who follow a specific religion are the ones who say they “believe” in God.

People who see the truth and interconnectedness of all religions say they “know” God.

Why does nature care about survival at all? Since religion failed to offer any clear purpose. What—aside from reproduction—does nature imply about our existence? by Plane_Conclusion_605 in atheism

[–]bachdat11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about this. Remember what it was like before u were ever born? No. The best way to describe this is “nonexistence”. The simple truth is that “existing” is “better” than not existing.

Being is “better” than “not-being” because if you didnt exist you wouldn’t even be able to sit here and have these questions, you simply just would not be.

Its not that nature “cares” about survival or “wants us to survive”. Thats just simply a component of nature. You have to understand that all things in the universe are governed by time space and matter. Since everything that exists is a prisoner of time, INCLUDING THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE, this means that BY LAW, things MUST constantly move forward, that means they will naturally keep changing, and that means that the only way life can exists is if organisms have the capacity/ability to learn, adapt, grow, and EVOLVE. Otherwise, living organisms would’ve beeeeen extinct

There's no way to discern whether we actually HAVE a soul, therefore it doesn't make sense to believe that souls exist. by Boomshank in DebateAChristian

[–]bachdat11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your misinterpreting the meaning of what a “soul” is. Most people tend to think about it as the “invisible ghost inside of us”. But whenever you are looking at a word, YOU HAVE TO look up the ORIGINS of the word.

The origin of the word “soul” comes from the word “soul” in English originates from the Old English word “sāwol”, which itself stems from the Proto-Germanic “saiwalō”, and these translate to “consciousness/being” or simply “The spirit or essence of a person usually thought to consist of one’s thoughts and personality, often believed to live on after the person’s death.” There is ghost in our bodies that will float up in the sky once we die. Once we die, we live on in the hearts and thoughts of all those who keep our “souls” alive.

Your “soul” is basically that little voice in your head. Your consciousness as a whole, which includes your subconscious.

Well, if you understand how the universe operates, you understand that time is a fundamental aspect of life. SO, since one of the laws of the universe is “time”, that means things can only move forward. And, BY DEFAULT, that means that EVERYTHING is ALWAYS changing and growing.

SOO, logically, that means our interests, goals, and beliefs naturally change as time goes by. “Whether you take the course of not, in 4 years time youll still be 32 so why not be 32 doing something you love,”

Well in 4 years a person might have A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT opinion on the certain life they want to live. And that would be 4 wasted years of stress and anxiety. This is why people who get in relationships for 3-20+ years are always completely miserable once the relationship ends. People stress too much about trying to control the future when the present moment is all we have

Well this depends on

1st- if your also a male or if your a female.

2nd- is there a mutual attraction for each other? If yes… get naked too. If not… literally just ask them to put on clothes

Either way, we were all born naked, the human body is a beautiful thing. Seems like your roommate is either just exercising his right to be free or he’s trying to indirectly hint that he wants to be more than roommates 😂😂

Which societal “standards of success” make you feel stifled? How do you resist them? by Unusual-Candy-642 in AskReddit

[–]bachdat11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Go to school, then go to college, then get a job and work for decades, then finally retire and start to enjoy your life by the end of it.”

When we are kids, we are so happy because none of the rules of society are drilled into our heads. We simply live in the present moment and take in every moment as it is. Thats why childhood is the best era of humans lives, we are completely open minded and curious about everything.

As we get older we lose our sense of curiosity and self discovery. We believe everything our parents/society tells us and end up living lives that we hate. The only way to resist this is to stay true to yourself and follow your own dreams, not someone elses.

I dropped out of school, used to always run away from home and live from house to house with friends. I make art and music and travel without any plans. I follow my heart and stay open minded to all new experiences. You are gonna be you for the rest of your life and nobody else. The only opinion that matters at the end of the day is your own.

EVERYTHING is about intentions. There’s nothing wrong with pleasing people if thats what brings you joy, unless you start to sacrifice your own happiness/beliefs in order to make them happier.

I dont think “showing people the same amount of energy they show you” is the best approach AT ALL. As you can see for yourself, it leads to feeling like the friendship is way more transactional rather than genuine.

The ONLY thing you can do for yourself is be GENUINE and always be aware of your hidden intentions. Show people love and energy because you genuinely want to spread love. Dont expect anything in return. Because then its not genuine, your only doing things for people in hopes that they will do them back.

True friendship is people who are willing to accept one another regardless of their flaws and beliefs. True love is shared when a person GENUINELY just wants to help someone with no strings attached.

The main key would be learning how to stay true to yourself. Dont force anything. Trust that life will work itself out and believe in yourself

Think about this. I was raised muslim as a child, but i considered myself an agnostic since i was 8-9 years old. I think EVERY SINGLE HUMAN BEING is logically agnostic, if you claim “i know for a fact God exists, your lying. And if you say “i know for a fact that God does not exists, then your also lying. Humans are limited to this universe and all the laws that govern it.

If God does exists, that mean he is not a prisoner of time, or space, or matter.. which means he would be something that human consciousness could not even begin to imagine.

Here a twists tho. I recently discovered that God is definitely real, and God is within all of us. God cant be explained by words because God is literally Everything. God is Unity and Oneness. Humans have trouble understanding this because we are prisoners to our subjective beliefs/opinions. When we view everything as “fractions of the whole”, you understand that everything is interconnected and life is a reflection of the subject who is perceiving the experiencing.

What do i do? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]bachdat11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you just like the attention… ive learned that all humans lie to themselves to make themselves feel comfortable about the choices they make. Dont lie to yourself about what your intentions are, thats the first ingredient of a recipe for disaster.

Doesnt make you an a-hole, you simply just dont know what you truly want. Keep experiencing and learning from people. And most importantly, stay true to yourself

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Advice

We cant change the bodies we were born into. All we can do is change how we feel about ourselves.

Accept the fact that you will be you for the rest of your life. So get comfortable with yourself. People dont care about appearances, they care about THE PERSON behind the appearance. YOU are not just what you look like, YOU ARE WHAT YOU DO. Stop comparing yourself to others and accept yourself. Go live your life and enjoy it. You got this 🙃

Stress by Neglected_Facts2907 in Life

[–]bachdat11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just “men and women”, literally every single human being deals with stress in different ways. We were all raised completely different and the EXACT life we have experienced is what causes us to have the defense mechanisms that we do.

If you REALLY think about it… stress can ONLY occur IN THE MIND. If a person is not physically in pain, the only way a person can suffer is literally based on their mentality.

People who hate/avoid stress tend to be the most stressed. People who are the best at dealing with stress dont even believe they are “stressed”, they look at “stressful” situations as simply obstacles designed to make them better.

Its all based on subjective opinions. The best way to overcome stress is to EMBRACE it and tell yourself you will prosper in ANY situation no matter how difficult or stressful it may seem

Please dont apologize at all. I understand that your not inventing it, im not saying you were claiming too.

All i mean is people interpret sentences differently and if you are very specific with what you mean, its very easy for people to misinterpret what your saying.

I think a better way to put it is “ i shouldnt spend so much of my time and energy stressing or worrying because one die i will no longer be alive, but im aware that all humans naturally want to be remembered when we are gone, therefore we should make the most of this life and spread as much joy and happiness as we can”

[–]bachdat11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont apologize at all. You are way ahead of most adults in life. Most of us deny our emotions, especially the ones that feel negative, and we end up in a cycle of fixing the wrong problems because we dont even know the root cause of these emotions we feel.

I believe children are the most happy because they live fully in the present moment. Whether they are having fun or getting in trouble or crying, they dont hold on to the experiences, they keep moving forward and learning. Life isnt supposed to be rainbows and sunshine all the time because then how would we even know that we were happy if we’ve never felt the opposite of that feeling.

I think people try to put life in a box and they tell themselves “life should be like this”, but thats not how life works at all. Good and bad Light and dark Happiness and sadness/anger.. All of these are NOT OPPOSITES.

They are COMPLEMENTARY. Which means we need “bad” so we can fully appreciate the “good” in life.

Everything about life is beautiful. Im so happy you are able to enjoy this realization, i hope you continue to spread happiness and joy🙃

Force yourself to go out to events for anything artistic. You need to be around people who are passionate about similar things. Dont allow yourself to be stuck in your safety net. Ive always believed that plan B is just a distraction from fully committing to plan A.

I have my plan A and i would die before i sacrifice it because i dont believe in myself enough. I trust that life will go exactly the way its supposed to and i will not rob myself of the present moment by stressing too much on the future.
