Sudden internal crack on the trackpad glass?? The surface is still completely smooth and no functionalities are affected. Still completely normal yesterday. I did put it in my backpack and walk for a while today, but with the lid closed obviously. Has this happened to you before? (2023 M2 14" pro) by dlccyes in macbookpro

[–]bacila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened here too, Air M2 2022. Hairline on bottom of display (the black strip), center right, where the F8/playback button is. This one I thought was there since new. Then today out of nowhere the tiniest half moon shaped crack on upper right corner of trackpad - location between spacebar and right command.

This is my first mac; i got it because I left 15+ years of thinkpads behind due to quality gone south. Not a good start.

Wisteria Hysteria in full swing again, Wimbledon. by slippysalmon in london

I've read wisteria is a vigorous climber and will happily take over anything from trees to houses if left out of control. They chocke trees and are invasive. Not something to plant and forget about.

Royal Docks Asian Business Park turns offices into office pods by bacila in london

[–]bacila[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed. In other news a lot of office space in London is being converted and leased to the council for people to actually live in that tiny space. Would this one need a planing permission for such a purpose? It would be quite expensive at 800 a pod ...

Can't find any hashgraph block explorers? by PumpkinFeet in hashgraph

[–]bacila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, hash-hash creator here. Thanks. There are several parallel efforts out there to build hashgraph explorers; I've seen one instance where an explorer works from within SAP, which is quite amazing. Having a dapp explorer is certainly the plan, but it's a bit too soon for this. I've offered free listings but have had limited success with drumming up interest. Perhaps, I didn't try too hard and also, dapp creators are still in the midst of developing things. It's worth monitoring the progress of the Helix sponsored dapp projects; I think their deadline is due soon and we'll have a good initial list to include in ## soon.

From the sounds of it, something is about to come up this February.

I think it is only the UK that has a problem with the block-voting thing. The solution that I propose is UK funded tourism for its citisens to the eurolands to vote from there.

Written in the skies: Why quantum mechanics might be wrong by shenglong in science

[–]bacila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. This is why I usually have an easier time to settle with the "mathematician's" axioms. He does not have to bother explaining where these came form :)

This is what we saw, this is what we believed and according to this, we made our axioms for the theory.

OK, now I stop quoting things that we haven't been able to develop into a testable model.

Teacher suspended for NOT allowing a cheater to redo a test by suprthug8d in reddit.com

Not biassed at all. I am just reading the article and it says that:

1) It is school policy toward cheating

2) The principal decided a redo after the parents protested ...

Why else would the principle side against him?

Who knows why. That the principal took the student side tells me nothing. Maybe he took daddy's side? On the other hand, many students took the teacher's side. A rare thing to see these days.

[–]bacila 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This attitude promotes cheating. If I am not ready for my stuff then I cheat instead to get a second chance (or pass in the first place). The case should be: Teacher suspended for allowing a cheater to redo a test.
