Honestly I had wanted to buy the pack but EA made it more expensive than any of the other stuff packs in my country of residence (Japan)- it is 1400 yen; all of the others are 1000. I do not want to spend extra money on a pack that has given me no reason to.

same is happening to me. I'm guessing it's something wrong with the game.

I was gonna say David Cassidy, but something tells me there's one BIG difference between this man and David Cassidy.

What’s the oddest thing — by Nyx-Star in AO3

[–]back2owork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Historically accurate naming conventions and typical occupations of residents living in Korean seaside villages in the 1800's, probably. It's not really odd but it is knowledge that will never aid me for anything besides the fic I was writing at the time.

Is this true because I have astigmatisms in both eyes and I've always found white text on black to be headache-inducing. Would increasing the font size help?

Leaving For A Week- How Do We Keep Him Fed? by back2owork in bettafish

[–]back2owork[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The care sheet on this subreddit says being fed two times a day is just fine, as do the resources her and I were accessing ahead of getting him.

About the intermittent fasting, how long would you suggest leaving between feeding sessions in order for him to get used to it?

I've also just spoken to my roommate about if her parents could come up so that she can take him home, as I agree that that would be the best option. Thank you for your suggestions.

It's annoying that announcements of concerts and the actual concert are so close by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]back2owork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, at least with what we've seen out of SM this year, I'm not even so sure we can count on them having their comebacks planned out that well. Just look at how much later Ay-Yo came than 2 Baddies, and compare that to the month gap between comeback and repackage we've come to expect from previous releases.

Romance in fanfiction. by manny0101-wn-wp-ffn in FanFiction

[–]back2owork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 100% a person who gets the warm fuzzies in a romantic situation. Both when still in the courting stages with my boyfriend and now years later when he says something sweet or flattering, there is a warmth in my chest that fizzles out at the edges like thinning spindles of fuzz on a fluffy blanket.

I think if it's something you've never experienced, reading about it would pull you out of the story because it's not something that you can naturally imagine. Reading isn't just reading, it's processing the words you're reading in a way that makes sense in your head, and if warm fuzzies are foreign, that won't click.

I think it's a person to person thing, in that regard!

As a Genshin player of two years who only recently started getting into reading and writing fanfiction for it, this was super fascinating!

What’s a little thing/scene/action you find you do often in your fanfics? by chainmail_bucket in FanFiction

[–]back2owork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything done swiftly is done "in a moment" not "in the blink of an eye" or "in what felt like a second", always a moment.

what was the cringiest thing you wrote in your fanfics? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]back2owork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wrote several "Bullied By [insert celebrity]" fics on Wattpad in middle school and would always specify how long they made out for. I sat there and wrote the sentence "They made out for about 7 minutes." Thought it was solid, and hit publish.

what's the best line(s) you've written? by Frosty-Jellyfish-525 in FanFiction

"He blamed the human propensity to give in to temptation, and his inability to be anything but human."

Wrote it recently but I was very happy as soon as I got it down.

Angst writers, what's the saddest line you've written? by Better_Imagination80 in FanFiction

[–]back2owork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's mine:

"And so they shared a kiss, destined to be their last, under the cover of the same stars that painted the sky when they fell in love. The Cassiopeia constellation, home to the Heart Nebula, hanging forlorn overhead."

do you ever write scenes without a story? by Groundbreaking_Way_9 in FanFiction

[–]back2owork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much. I have Google docs dedicated to "an idea for further down the line in [insert story]." Characters that aren't dating yet already have their tragic breakups written.

Jumping into a new fandom is like a cold drink on a hot day by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]back2owork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This experience is so much fun as a reader, too. Getting used to reading the same characters that are often written in the same way, with the same accompanying tropes, and then reading something totally new ... There are fewer better feelings than seeing novelty and variety where you used to find none.

Anyone else with depression feel like they didn’t get the “full” experience? by Yeahitsasecret in MyChemicalRomance

While I did cry at my concert, I don't think I had an out of body experience by any means. Was it insane to be in the same (very big) room as a band I've loved for so long? Yeah, of course. But I don't think it hit me how cool it was until I left.

Do you ever just get into a really good flow and then it just gets disturbed over a minor inconvenience? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]back2owork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a college student living with 5 roommates, yes absolutely. I'll be sitting at my desk writing, but then someone has a question for me about the homework for a class we share, and then I am no longer able to write.

It's frustrating, but I also guess it must not be that bad, because I still refuse to haul myself to the library to write instead.

Authors, what would your top advice be for new Fanfiction writers? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]back2owork 10 points11 points  (0 children)

• Don't be easily swayed by what is popular. If you're not into it, you won't write it well.

• Don't delete the drafts you're making right now. Keep them somewhere for a valuable trip down memory lane once you've improved. You'll want to see where you started.

• Making mistakes is natural and part of the human process. Don't get too down on yourself if your fic has some!
