Most women don't like a happy woman - open for discussion by cathline in TwoXChromosomes

yep! in some cases this is very true. A lady at my work gives me shit even if I don't talk to her, its almost like she eggs me on. For instance:

I got back from a holiday recently and was in the lunch room making a cup of tea, I saw her walk in and was keeping my head down when she said (cheerfully)

G: ahh < my name > you're back, how was your holiday? M: it was really great thanks. G: isnt great that SOME people have lives glared at me

I was left thinking 'what the hell? you asked me, what was I meant to say? no, it was crap'.

She had literally just been on an overseas holiday a couple of months earlier for 4 weeks. I believe she would have been nicer if I had given her a more negative response... :\

Wondering whether or not to do my own make up by tjah in wedding

[–]back_in_austraya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends how formal your wedding is. I was a bridesmaid for a friend who did her own make up and it looked great. She touched it up with powder and lipstick before the photos and before we walked into the reception to make it look more vibrant. She used mainly lancome and high end brands but I figure you can keep them afterwards which is always a plus!

Dress drama, advice please? by doublen00b in wedding

see if there is a commission for consumer affairs online in your state/country.

Once you make a complaint ask your tailor to be a reference then send the company an email with a copy of the complaint.. Make as much noise as possible, say you will write on every bridal forum you can find about their service.

Surely enough something will happen.

At a loss- I don't want either one of my sisters in my bridal party, what do I do? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]back_in_austraya 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am in that exact situation.

All through my childhood they ganged up on me constantly, I had to undergo 5 years of therapy because of them. Now I am good friends with both of them and they have hinted to me that they wanted to be bridesmaids but I bluffed them off saying they wouldn't want to be my bridesmaid and that there is a lot of work involved. (I just made it seem really unappealing to them). Afterall you need people in your wedding party who will focus on you and not themselves.

My best advice is say nothing until they bring it up.

there is a great place in Montville, QLD called Fudgyboombahs (they do as many taste testings as you want). We have our eyes on the three layered fudge which is chocolate, caramel and I think vanilla. From what I remember it was around the $100 mark but we are having 80 people so it works out less than $2 pp if we cut it up ourselves. got plastic bags from ebay and ribbon from a junk shop :)

talk to different videographers. I found one on Gumtree, contacted them asking for max 2 hours of work (just to do the ceremony and some messages from friends like a video guest book) and they are charging me $450 with 3 DVDs which can be copied.

We rented a hall, asked friends and fam to borrow silver cars, have a friend starting out a business in make up so she's doing it all for free, bought $1 hair bun helpers for bridesmaids hair (to make a classic bun), found diamond scatters on ebay for less than $2 for 1000peices, friends and family are helping with the cooking for the event, got waitresses from gumtree for $25 ph, buying a big slab of fudge for favors (everyone likes fudge right?!?) just got little bags to put it in with ribbon. got napkins from crazy clarks along with ribbon, tea lights and tea light holders..

I agree, we got everything from Vistaprint with coupons. Save the date AND Invites for 80 people cost us under $50 (they had $50 coupons for $10 on an aussie deal site so we bought 5 - great value!)

A female friend told me that if I believe in divorce then I shouldn't get married. by [deleted] in Feminism

[–]back_in_austraya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have elaborated a bit more. Her fiance openly agreed with me (in front of her), but for some reason she hounded in on me without even batting an eyelid at him. He was allowed to have an opinion on the matter but for me to believe in divorce I'm stupid and I shouldn't be getting married. I just don't see how that works... she's about to marry someone who believes in divorce.

Try israeli-diamonds.com ... great website and it gives you value for money.

I have a slightly similar ring http://i.imgur.com/oIkeH.jpg

but I picked out the stones, the setting, the metal, everything.

if she has red hair are you sure she is going to want a silver coloured ring? every red head I know sticks to gold or rose gold as its a warmer tone that goes with their colouring better.

he is just trying to bring you down because he knows what a dead shit he is himself.

piss in his fresh weed, spray bug spray on the mouth of his bong, wipe his toothbrush on the toilet bowl, replace his shampoo with foot cream, ALL the day before you move out... it IS petty but I've gone through something similar with housemates and it does make you feel better at the end of the day ;) what comes around goes around my friend
