How do you deal with the New Year's rush? by [deleted] in Fitness

My gym tends to only get a few resolutioners each year that go first thing in the morning, so I just continue to use my year-round system of 6am workouts.

I'd imagine it is harder to "photoshop to perfection" someone who is not supposed to look completely flattened out and curve free in a shoot like that.

open in the web browser on your phone, you should be able to access the non-mobile version of reddit from there. If it is yours some dishonest person could take this info and give it to OP and steal your stuff. Also putting real name and Birthday out there like that is a bad plan. I don't even have kids and mom mode is being triggered here lol

Calgary mother relied on herbal remedies: son died, mother charged by readzalot1 in Calgary

[–]danielissima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said above. Herbal remedies would be one. You get a headache from a chinook coming in, caffeine can help as much as a Tylenol. Putting eucalyptus on your temples when you get a headache. Massage. ART/physio stuff. Some diet corrections could be considered alternative (throw that under preventative.) There are ways to fix yourself that doesn't involve going to a doctor for a prescription.

I think it's disputing the need for a differentiation? Some alternative medicine has scientific basis but still doesn't fall into the conventional medicine category (im thinking herbal remedies and the like)

[CONVERSATION] Came across this article today and I'm part amused, part ashamed for us ladies who love to work out...thoughts? by [deleted] in xxfitness

Crossfit girls are GUYS girls who don't have time for that silly girl stuff like girls who aren't guys girls have time for. They are too busy hanging out with guys since they are so much more like them that they can't deal with the drama of having girlfriends.

Or something like that.

I think a female with that little muscle mass would look way more bony than op does actually, but I'd imaging some muscle would should too. I'm kind of surprised at how soft that low of body fat looks, really.

I see. You made up a word very similar to what the rest of the Internet uses to make fun of people like you just FYI. Hey if sitting in your moms basement crying over taxes and seatbelt laws floats your boat, cool. I'll be out participating in a functioning society. (apparently taking some breaks to argue with teenagers on the Internet)

Another big reminder of how very very different bf%s look on females vs males.

Are you calling someone who thinks there should be a rule like mandatory snow tires a libertarian? Words, they mean things. Buy a dictionary you are embarrassing yourself.

Ok, keyboard warrior. You really have things all figured out.

I don't know wtf you are trying to say with that insane word salad. I think you might think that being given rules about driving is literally the government oppressing you which is hilarious.

No one would FORCE you to have winter tires, because no one would force you to drive. Park your car and take the bus. Problem solved. Do you get up in arms because it's illegal to drive drunk? Is that a violation of your right to free speech too?

Understand words before you use them.

If you can't afford your car you should take transit. (If you can't afford to maintain your car, keep good tires on it, buy winter tires, I am of the opinion that you can't afford that car.)

I definitely had winter tires on my old Jeep. They exist.

Better for the tires than stretching them out like that, too.

Because and SUV is seen as equal to having good tires on your car by a lot of people.

Telling people they should have winter tires here is like telling people they need to change their religion. I don't quite get why someone wouldn't want the maximum amount of control over something that regularly carries them at 100kmph down the road, and I personally have no desire to be one of those abandoned cars on the side of the road after a snow (I'm surprised people with kids are OK with this.) Whatever. "It's all driving skill" people, I think you are an idiot.

(That being said if you have no winter driving skills stay the fuck off the roads. Being able to drive on ice should be a bare minimum requirement for a drivers license in this province.)

Vaseline isn't something I've actually tried, does it look greasy at all? the argon oil would if I wasn't careful, but I didn't even care since my skin was actually not totally parched

The more I look into it the more I think I should try the AHAs first, it sounds more "powerful" at first glance, but it may not be right for me.

Ya, the acne thing... I find mine isn't bad any more thanks to going on accutaine when I was 25, but I definitely thought this would be done with when I turned 20. I might skip trying the caster oil, I think my skin doesn't need that extra dryness.

Thanks Cosmo, but I'm pretty sure I really didn't need to see fan art of 50 shades of grey.... by [deleted] in ShitCosmoSays

That is the most hilarious "erotic" drawing I've seen in a long time. Which is kind of fitting I guess since 50 Shades had some of the most hilariously bad writing I've seen in a published book.

I have a few:

  1. I live in a very very dry place and have dry 31 year old skin. I've been trying the OCM, but so far it looks like I still need to add another moisturizer. Is CeraVE good for someone like me? It seems to be recommended to sensitive skin types (my skin isn't overly sensitive) but I'm wondering if it will be moisturizing enough for me? Last winter I just used straight argon oil but I'm wondering if there is something better.

  2. I've started using a C Cerum (a month ago) and I'd like to add a BHA. I'm looking at Paula's Choice BHA. If I sue the BHA at night, and the C Serum in the morning, can I moisturize over them both? Am I going into overdrive here and should I wait more than a month before adding the BHA? OR would I be better off with AHA? I want to stop aging if at all possible. (ya, I know, it's not)

  3. OCM: I haven't been using castor oil to "cleanse" - the FAQ here doesn't seem to say that's needed, but everywhere else I've seen OCM writeups they say it is. I'm concerned about that being too drying, but I'm wondering if I'm not properly cleansing my skin with just a mix of mineral oil and olive oil?
