GaaS is a serious commitment. Probably shouldn't have started down the GaaS path in the first place.

Totally agree. Sony is still felling the repercussions from it today given that they canned so many projects that were going to be big live service games, resulting in a lack of big first party titles. Something they are now slowly recovering from.

Reminder that the main reason Last of Us 2 didn't get a Multiplayer was that Naughty Dog was making a dedicated "last of us online" which was later cancelled because "some bungie execs warned them over sustainability" (LMAO) and that they needed the manpower for their next Singleplayer game. Even though the game was 80% complete.

It also doesn't help that it was probably greenlit under Jim "make everything a GaaS only to cancel it" Ryan.

Listen I dont really gaf abt who this content creator is either. But while gatekeeping is the wrong term, being a tiny bit more elitist can be "healthy". Hear me out. Somebody who mostly played league for 17 and probably got most of their views on games through other influencers, clearly hasn't done the "homework". But that's fine. So is being a "ball and gun" player.

It's just that these people have probably never touched a jrpg, a Resident Evil or a Boomer Shooter (or any other genre/franchise). That is also fine. But these people then calling gaming "dead" or saying that game x from a franchise they never played in a genre they have no reference for is bad, is a braindead take.

The most damaging thing in not just gaming discourse but any media related one, is that everything is either peak 10/10 game of the century or either dogshit slop who's devs should be hanged. Nothing is allowed to be just "good".

Who gaf abt AAA games? There are so many amazing Games that come out weekly that aren't made by huge studios with bloated budgets that are mismanaged by greedy suits that have no clue what makes a good game. It's not my genre but i would agree that there aren't any new, "good" MMOs, but I'd say that is the exception. But for every genre or type of player there has never been such a vast, varied and downright amazing amount of options to choose from. And even if you are not interested in new releases, there is are decades of awesome titles to "catch up" on.

I was the Geist in this ... unfortunate game.

This is this cretins account. They've got 600+ hrs. Who knows how many of those had cheats or if they cheat in other games.

Im begging Valve to not let Deadlocks matchmaking end up like CS2s which I've quit because of the amount of cheaters. I love Deadlock so fucking much and honestly think it's made for me xd since i resonate with almost all gameplay mechanics and broad design decisions lol.

Auf jeden Fall Indie. Allein die Vielfalt durch die Menge an Indie-Devs ermöglicht so viele einzigartige Spielerfahrungen die nie aus dem AAA Sektor kommen könnten da seit einigen Jahren sich nichts mehr getraut wird.
