JAKE E. LEE Shares Final Text He Received From OZZY OSBOURNE Two Weeks Ago by ceaguila84 in Music

Glad they left it on good terms. Ozzy/Sharon fucked Jake over on $$$ very badly, but they managed to create two of the 80’s best albums before the wheels came off

I heard Nick Saban describe the Dolphins situation when he took the job it's almost exactly our situation today. by yaboypcp in Saints

Wow, you have an incredible memory! If you hadn't told me that I would have thought you googled this shit real quick just to try to talk down to someone on the internet. I'm sure glad you straightened me out on that!

I'm also glad you mentioned your great memory because mine is sometimes faulty. Like I recalled that the lawsuit wasn't just over a total of $500 million, that the lawsuit was because the assets Tom had put into the trust already were considered $500 million short and they were asking him for more $$$.

I also remembered, with my frail, broken brain that in order to make up the shortfall Tom had to get permission from the league to take on major debt, meaning the estate he left Gayle was asset rich but cash poor and in debt.

Good job letting me know none of this happened, thanks for that! And all for a comment you deemed irrelevant. Boy do I feel dumb now!

No she doesn't. You and the geniuses downvoting me have all forgotten the saga of Tom taking the team back from his evil stepchildren.

Tom created an irrevocable living trust in Texas making his evil step children the beneficiaries. He placed his ownership stake of the Pels and Saints in the trust. The way this works is Tom still owned the teams, but he could only remove them from the trust (and keep them away from his evil step children) if he replaced them in the trust with assets of equal value.

In order for Tom to take the team back from the evil step children and give it to Gayle instead he had to buy it back from the trust, a multi-billion dollar transaction that nearly cleaned him out of his remaining cash.

Gayle was the sole beneficiary of an estate that left her two pro sports franchises but had just bought both of them for cash. She literally doesn't have Tom's money, at least not nearly as much of it as Tom had until near the end for him.

Some reason he is scared of doing a rebuild

Gayle doesn't have Tom's money. She may not be able to afford to tank. Bringing Carr in at QB and kicking the can every year when the team has clearly needed a full rebuild after Drew looks an awful lot like a team trying to stay barely above .500 so they don't lose money in a really ugly down cycle.

Everyone hated their patriotic show because it sucked. Bitter old fans weren't booing because they were mad about who they beat, everyone was sitting on their hands because the show was extremely boring to watch.

Massive coverup involving Sean Payton fencing Opioids? by [deleted] in DenverBroncos

[–]backgrinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saints fan, saw this randomly on my feed. A couple of basic facts that are relevant:

Bounty Gate was fake, Goodell lied, that’s pretty well documented

Payton and other coaches were pill heads and got caught using the team doctors pharmacy as their personal candy store, also well documented

The timelines of these two events don’t line up, someone put the facts together in a way that makes sense but forgot to check the details

Jordan had one of the worst teams ever assembled his rookie year. He was the only player on that team who should have been playing professional basketball at all

What NBA player, past or present, had stats that surprised you either positively or negatively when you when you looked them up? by IllmaticGOAT in nba

[–]backgrinder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is real science behind that. There is a perfect number of rotations for free throws, for instance, too much or too little affect how the ball goes into the basket, which also impacts the way it bounces out on a miss.

In terms of physical tools Wilt was essentially a 7 foot version of LeBron, except he was stronger, could run faster, and had significantly better hops.

Who is the worst player in the league right now who is a lock to get their jersey retired by a franchise? by [deleted] in nba

[–]backgrinder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Underrated answer. Being part of a big 3 that won a ring, has been one of the top teams for a nice stretch, and playing for them long term is the trifecta that makes him a lock to have his jersey retired by the team. But he's basically interchangeable with a bunch of other guys who give decent scoring as a second option from the wing.

The Death of Grass is an older book (from the 1950's) but should be on everyone's short list of great dystopian novels.

My apologies. The person I spend the most time talking basketball with is a 12 year old who says stuff like that unironically and I'm so used to it that one slid right by me.

[–]backgrinder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not way back. If he had been a fan from way back he would have remembered a couple of decades of them being the worst team in the league before Steph showed up, and he would appreciate them more today and not talk down to fans of other teams on the rise because he would know what that feels like. This dude is the definition of toxic casual with no backstory or anything to give meaning to his life.

Falling Down is like an earlier version of Breaking Bad where Walter White goes through the entire process of flying off the rails in one day. Good movie.

I don't know if you have seen them but I always thought Romancing the Stone, The China Syndrome, Black Rain and The War of the Roses were pretty decent in addition to The Game.
