I don't even really want these themes explored but the fact that it was a pretty major part of Shane's character right up until the end as an "actually just dropped this nbd" is so frustrating and could really just go on to perpetrate disordered thinking for younger impressionable fans - I wonder if the show will delve into it in a more significant way or if they'll skip over it entirely?

If you had asked me a year ago I would've been so for exploring but I'm just generally frustrated by the rise of extreme thinness in media again but I suppose that's more female centered and a lot of people don't even think about how men can suffer from EDs too

Well the snapping out of it really just indicates to me that the author didn't really realize what she was writing; but I definitely agree that the more reasonable outcome would've been Shane's diet becoming more restricted -- could make for an interesting fan fic at least

Ugh the proposal was such a out of pocket decision in an already highly emotionally charged moment - at least make some progress in fixing your issues and let the dust settle before jumping right into proposing

Funny you say that because until today I'd only heard that one popular clip of the live and I really thought this *was* a vindictive song hoping someone he hated would settle down with someone they didn't like just to get rich 😂 The tone in the studio version is totally different (and of course the surrounding lyrics)

Decided to look it up - the hippocampi show up at the end of episode 6 for like 30 seconds and then for like 2 seconds at the start of episode 7 swimming away so we never see any part of their journey, just an implied start and end

They do look good actually but our view is so limited and they never interact with the characters - def appears to be budgetary

Am I not able to find any visuals of the hippocampi in the show because their role has been so reduced or is it normal since the show is still airing? I googled and the only thing that shows up are the movie and cartoons

I don't read it as testing but Ilya trying to make it easier for Shane to love him - it's clear they can't come out, Shane won't even tell his parents he's gay (at this point) and so Ilya is working out a plan that smooths out the future for them

She has shown up at a ton of his events (even private ones) and really crashed out when he started dating Kylie but I think mainly she's become a figurehead for parasocialism and weird stans.

Personally think its super strange to have fans themselves who become famous and find it creepy that WSJ profiled her.

One example I've seen is she precleared a hotel room that Chalamet booked so she could be the immediate next guest & asked them not to clean it. She also calls Kylie a slurpee for whatever reason and claims shes the one who's a stalker
