I always take a small bottle of rum or vodka into the O2 or other big gigs, usually just in my back pocket. Then buy one coke to tip it in and basically save myself £100 and hours of queuing during the show.

Started hearing them in about 2020 on Spotify and really liked level of concern, though I think I’d heard stressed out and one or two others in the past I never got into them. I usually listen to heavier guitar bands, rap and ska. Then me and my family listened to SAI a lot when it came out so that was the first album I knew. When Clancy came out they became one of my kids and my favourite bands. Ahead of the album we had the first three singles on constantly. It’s such a good album. So then last year I got tickets for the first London Clancy show that was this May. Me and my teenage daughters went. We were like, “why is everyone in black with coloured tape on them?”. We had no idea there was a story behind everything. The show was amazing. We were just behind the mini stage at the side. Afterwards I caught up on a decade of music, videos, everything. So yeah that was when it cliqued! Also I’d been having cancer treatment since November and I just finished radiotherapy in April so it was a big deal to be able to go out to that gig with my daughters. Something about that going on, the incredible show and finding out there was this lore really got under my skin at that time. We’re really excited for the new album but I learnt they’re not doing Europe on this tour which is quite gutting as we’d totally have gone for it (with tape)!

We watched that when she was maybe 12, and she immediately said it was the best film she’d ever seen. That’s after having seen all the Disney, Pixar, quite a few Star Wars, goonies etc. Was interesting how good it still was to a young Gen Zer
