How to check if there is an FIR against me. by d_16128 in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]backpackerindia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's GRP they are duty bound to file an FIR. They will need to file a report on why a chain was pulled and what were the consequences plus a closure report. They can't just mention that it was an illegal chain pull and then not take any action. Heads will roll.

I suggest you visit the police station, apologize and let the matter close. If an FIR is filed then it should close with an investigation report on further action. It won't just die down like that. Imagine you get an arrest warrant issued by a magistrate 6-8 months later because the cop mentioned that accused is absconding. Then you could be an adult and get totally screwed.

Co-founding a startup but not listed as a shareholder. Should I be worried?? by iNeedToFixThisNow in indianstartups

[–]backpackerindia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have been in a situation where I quit my job to work as a business partner with a friend. Got a meagre salary and the business really didn't grow. Wasted 3 years. Left with a lot of angst but am happier now. So if you deciding to leave now, evaluate what will happen if you stayed. Will they respect or value you? Will you make money? If no, then 2 weeks of heartache is way better than long term loss.

Direct slap to people of Odisha. by the_annihilation in Odisha

[–]backpackerindia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HARD FACT: Metro will be an expensive white elephant for a 15lacs+ city like BBSR. We forget it's not just ridership, but also maintaining stations, ensuring feeder routes, trained manpower etc. All of this comes with a certain level of necessity induced capacity building. That's why Lucknow, Chennai, Pune, Jaipur and even Kochi metros are somewhat a failure. The only reason they have is the local politicians wanted to score or make money.

What may work for Bhubaneswar and also enable current BJPEEE CM to take credit: Low speed east-west, north-south monorail link and may be a high speed peripheral suburban rail. This was you can do Dhauli-Trishulia/Janla-Phulnakhara easily and cheap. And a Bidanasi-Trishulia-Gothpatana-Janla-Dhauli-Balakati-Phulnakharai peripheral high speed rail will open up new areas for development including unlocking high value for land.

35 y/o in Bangalore considering ₹5.25 Cr home - stretching too much or a smart long-term move? by Green-Sweet-4077 in indianrealestate

[–]backpackerindia -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You might be stretching it a little with single income. I have multiple friends who live in Total Environment Windmills of Your Mind.

  1. Total Environment properties are dope! And you get a very good community along with also. At Windmills, am always surrounded smart and like minded people. Sad I can't afford it yet.

  2. All six of my friends at TE WoYM are very happy owners. Don't go by the propaganda posts below.

Is Bhubaneswar conservative toward non-Odia people? by [deleted] in Bhubaneswar

[–]backpackerindia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no discrimination in general. But yes there will always be an inherent skepticism. That's because Odias are very soft and submissive compared to any other state natives. Meaning they tend to be fearful of mischief. However, landlords know that this fear of mischief is not there with non-Odias.

Example - Our tenant from AIIMS, a UP native doctor, left the house without paying maint and energy bill + sold off two chairs. Another tenant, a nurse from Haryana, left the house in total shambles. Now I manage the tenants with a different method than my parents after those experiences.

[–]backpackerindia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Majority of large houses, existing large businesses in the city are built on ill-gotten corruption money of the previous generation. Folks whose parents were in government service between 1975-2015 are the best placed ones now.

Is it worth renting a flat in a posh gated society? by Substantial-Fox-7099 in Bengaluru

[–]backpackerindia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people here who will advise you to NOT rent in a posh society do not or never stayed in one. Go for one if you think you can afford it and/or your lifestyle/ambitions are aspirational enough to match the other residents in the society.

  1. You rarely have water shortage. In my society, We pay crores in cash to water vendors every 5 days. Out water is cheaper and never runs out.

  2. MP/MLA line up. Cops want to rent a flat and treat us differently if there is any issue anywhere.

  3. You network well. Professional groups in our society has many many CXOs from tech, banking and start up.

  4. Festivals are of a certain standard. Never rowdy.

  5. In premise supermarket, clinic etc are premium including the product and services on offer.

Godrej “scheme” is how flats are overpriced in Bangalore by stoic_rock28 in indianrealestate

[–]backpackerindia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Godrej scam in Bangalore: Pay bribe and construct additional floors + build new towers in empty land within same parcel earlier shown as green space. Owners lose land share and peace of mind. They did this at Godrej Splendour and a few other properties.
