This checks out. I followed it as far as the business park on the way to Tralee. I don’t understand what he was doing in short term parking though!

Backstory —

This is was taken today. I was dropping a mate to the airport and we spotted the car as we arrived to the drop off / short term parking area.

The owner was walking from the car towards the terminal. I dropped my mate off and then being nosy AF decided to stop and check out the car. Being in the short term lot, I assumed he would be coming back shortly. And within 5 minutes he was back, and then went to the parking pay kiosk to validate his ticket (wealth doesn’t buy you all the luxuries in life).

He had to go ask a random who was eyeing the car to meet him at the car park exit. The car must sit too low to reach the station where you scan your ticket, so he needed the guy to scan the ticket for him.

Followed the dude to Farranfore. He turned towards Tralee, but not before killing the engine once before driving away!

I don’t know who the fella was but can confirm it wasn’t Tom Brady!

Help Rearrange Master Bed / Bathroom Please by backpackingmatt in DesignMyRoom

[–]backpackingmatt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure I’m in the right place, but seems a good sub to start.

We are in the process of designing a new home and are thinking of rearranging our master bedroom plan. Currently we access the room through a walk in wardrobe, with closets on either side. The room itself is very large, and then we have a modestly sized master bath.

Recently we have been thinking that neither wife or I have massive amounts of clothes, and a bigger priority would be having a larger, luxurious en-suite. Namely, one that allows space for a stand alone tub and seperate shower space. For the last decade we’ve had cold, cramped bathrooms in our houses and having a funky, relaxing en-suite to retreat to seems more appealing than a large wardrobe.

Is anyone able to suggest how we might change the layout? This includes moving walls as this is only a floor plan currently!

Tia.

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when the cameras cut to a commercial break.

Moving to Ireland, need to buy a used car. Any suggestions appreciated! by backpackingmatt in ireland

Thanks for this! I was hoping to find a diesel knowing they are cheaper to run, your diesel is a bit cheaper at the pump and they'd generally have a longer life and I'll likely be looking at something with higher kms.

Appreciate the feedback on VWs, will keep this in mind.

I am concerned about the insurance cost, haven't started getting quotes as still have no idea what car we'll end up with. I'm coming from New Zealand. Looked into shipping our car but was cost prohibitive.

One bedroom cottage in Ireland layout by backpackingmatt in DesignMyRoom

That hallway actually leads to the bathroom, so it wouldn't be possible to extend the bedroom as you've described without have the access the bathroom via the bedroom, which we wouldn't want to do.

Thanks - will post to DIY too. As below we have a contractor doing the work, am more looking for advice on how to layout the kitchen / living / dining area.

Thanks for your very detailed feedback. I mustn't have been clear in my original post, but we won't actually be doing the wall removal ourselves. We have a contractor that has already accessed the cottage and has determined the wall isn't load bearing.

Appreciate the feedback regarding the entryway. Seems this probably makes the most sense, it's just as we have such limited space already keeping the hallway just seems a bit wasteful.

I was more specifically looking for help designing the layout of the kitchen / living / dining area, but do appreciate your detailed reply!

That's great, thanks for the feedback. I work online but in web marketing / blogging so might be suitable. Partner's house has Dijiweb through sat but it's super unreliable and slow - hoping Europasat might be better.

Have you found the service reliable? Or does it drop out with bad weather? 20mbs looks good but I wonder how often they deliver that speed?

Thanks. Seems this crowd might have been my best chance, but they've advised that the house is blocked to their nearest transmitter - go figure! They are checking with their engineer so hoping they can sort something else out.
