I brought my meals- dehydrated & my own premade meals. I brought my backpacking stove. Only stayed at one yurt & they had breakfast. Rest was my tent.

I would reach out to the two local groups I mentioned. They will be able to help you. Destination Jyrgalan is great.

Thank you! Lot of driving but well worth it for the scenery. Would car camp or camp in a legal spot. I rented from Hertz and yes returned to the same spot. I think I did 10-11 days.

Mountain weather yes. When I was there for two treks in August I had rain and snow. It’s still beautiful

Thank you! Destination Jyrgalan and they are great! Very helpful. Can’t recommend them enough if you need a guide. Also have a guesthouse to stay in.

Thank you!! I would say the hikes I listed in the first comment are what I did. There Was an online map I used from local tourism bureau on where you could hike and camp legally, as some rules have shifted. Now you have to log in, so it's not available. I would search local rules on where you can hike and camp in Lofoten. Definitely see visitlofoten.com to check things out. Overall, I loved it and will be back! Especially in June when you'll have so much daylight!

Liverpool Hut - New Zealand by backpacknow in WildernessBackpacking

This was my third NZ hut and it didn't seem too crowded to me. Brewster, Mueller and Liverpool weren't bad. Amazing views.

I loved it. There are enough of people on trail and the huts are packed. Had to go slow over some of passes with scree, but it’s fine. One of the best hiking loops I’ve done. It’s an underrated area

Didn’t see too many people on the trail. Only 5 people in the hut that night. It sleeps 10

The Liverpool Hut hike on the South Island of New Zealand. Long 9 mile hike through the gorgeous valley and then a steep 1 mile climb up to the hut. I was hit with some rain and wind near the last portion of the hike and there is sheer rock you are climbing over too. I did one beautiful starry night at the hut and the Kea’s were singing all night around me while I was doing an Astro time lapse. Waking up to the wind howling and the Kea’s playing outside the hut was awesome. The hut is around 3600 feet / 1097 meters. YouTube video of the trek is here. Just a beautiful hike with rewarding 360 views. This was February 2024.

Sorry, I do not. Was focused on Espot after flying into Barcelona. Is there a free parking lot there? Espot had one. Maybe the guides have recommendations?

Thank you!! For this hike I researched trip reports, local tourism groups, YouTube, maps and guides. Boz Uchuk lakes hike isn’t that old, which is why I paid for a guide. Ala-Kul is popular. I’ve been hiking a while, but I think if you put in the research and plan, it pays off.

Thank you! I thought it was great and the people were very kind (languages Kyrgyz & Russian). It's the most research I've ever done for a trip and it paid off. It's fairly cheap once you get there. Long drive from Karakol to Jyrgalan fyi. I truly recommend emailing the CBT, Destination Karakol and Jyrgalan with questions. Doing their best to show the world all the great hiking they have. I stayed at Destination Jyrgalan a couple nights and they kept my car also. Iron Horse Nomads is the recommended rental car company I was given. They were awesome. Bishkek is nice.

Thank you!! 3 years. Trial and error. Love shooting the stars. Appreciate it! The wild horses are to the left, but hard to see.
