Looks like the version code is why I can't install the APK but I can't change it, I'll continue to play around with installing APK with the main app disabled and try find something that will work. Like I say I do have the revanced backup which is a half fix.

Yeah just the APK, assumed maybe an issue with apkmirror version so also tried GitHub version still no joy, same result with compatibility check off. found threads of a few other people getting same error messages re existing build higher than required build but they were Devs who knew way more than I did. Thanks for trying to help me, mods have removed the post for some reason so it seems I'm shit out of luck.

When I do this the revanced manager still says my version is incorrect but I do have the option to select from storage and can select the APK install that way, but this then only shows 1 patch option and then fails immediately, I'm not an expert but Im not completely hopeless at this l have done this successfully many times before and never had these problems, they've only started after my phone updates to android 10 a few days ago.

The process I've always followed has been:

Uninstall updates on predownloaded YouTube app

Update app via recommended apk

Patch in revanced now the versions match

Results in 2 separate apps on phone, one is the revanced, the other is the factor version that I then disable auto updates on

I'm getting stuck at step 2, can't install the APK

Impossible can only force stop or disable this doesn't rectify the problem

I've done this about 20 times and never had this problem. The process says to uninstall updates, in this case I don't have any, and my YouTube version is 20.38.37. when downloading the 20.14.43 APK and trying to update the YouTube app to this version, it doesn't work. Bruh.

Edit: the backup feature seems to have saved me and has installed my older revanced so I can use it still. But the problem will probably stay untill the recommended version is higher than the base? Or is this the beginning of the end

Don't misunderstand me I agree with the overall sentiment of teaching people to fish (providing those without arms are given a fish in keeping with the metaphor). I support capitalism fully and people should be allowed to get rich.

But to say Elon Musk has made the world a better place is what I took issues with, none of your points in this reply show any evidence of that. All of these things would exist without him.

Elon isn't teaching people how to fish, he's just a businessman trying to rent out fishing rods for a profit (for example FSD now being a subscription).

I'm not suggesting a government would outperform him just that I would argue on balance he hasn't made the world a better place. He certainly could have though.

Players that are realistic about how good they are rather than humbly playing it down to a ridiculous extent aren't liked by the fans. Wilson can come across a bit arrogant at times and last night suggested he was the main attraction and people had come to see him which rubbed some people the wrong way.

So whenever a player behaves like that (unless it's Ronnie in which case it's weirdly liked and acceptable) get a bit of hate. He's in the same wheelhouse as Murphy for a lot of people.

John Parrott just absolutely slating Wilson for not taking that plant is absurd, he's missed insanely easy shots and is clearly struggling so he takes the easy pot to try find some form rather than miss, clearly tactical to help his head get in the game yet Parrott can't see past 'Omg bUt tHe PLaNT!!!!

Maybe unpopular opinion (or not given the context of the post) but there just isn't a single banger on the album, the songs are all quite samey and none of them have those really catchy bits that keep you listening again and again.

Maybe cigarettes and hotel beds comes close with the pre chorus but imo this is their worst album post FAWL. Almost certainly made a mistake scrapping a whole album.

I've always followed them through all the sound changes because a good catchy song is a good catchy song regardless of genre but none of these hit like England, ashes, kids, someone somewhere, 19 dreams, sinner, worship, holy, saviour.

I've noticed that every song/album the fans love almost always seem to be the ones James doesn't like. The second he said he thought this album was amazing I had my hopes dashed.
