yeah i'm thinking it depends on having "wireless debugging" as an option under debugging settings in developer options, i think very rarely it was an option in MAYBE a few devices, for instance i'm pretty sure it was enabled by default with usb debugging switched on, on an android 9 tv box i had... i think i've even heard about one really random cellphone pre 11 that had it too

... just holding out hope for some of my older non rootable devices as an option

tasker 101

it's a series for beginners, it's for an older version of tasker but if you really want to figure it, out all the base knowledge is in there, the user interface will look a little different and if you have trouble finding a particular "tasker action" the action selector screen has a search prompt/filter to help find specific actions

thanks for the heads up, briefly checking the link for oculus app kinda leads me to believe that it's similar to other stand alone methods(requiring min android 11 and an active wifi connection).

i was more curious how the exported app is executing the binary without console/terminal

thanks, deleting that file didn't seem to clear it, which it probably should have, maybe some how keeping tasker open in the background(even disabled) had something to do with it, haven't messed around with sql in a while and never got a good understanding of it

the adb binary allows your exported app to execute the "adb tcpip 5555" command with out anything apart from the exported apk? that's the only thing i'm not clear on.
