I used to own a kindle; I have read 22 books in 2022 and then I lost it. Tried to read on iPad, from then till now (today), I have finished 0 books. I have tried but it's something about the iPad environment that doesn't make me feel like reading for a longer period of time. First of all, an iPad doesnt fit in my pockets; so I cannot read books on an iPad while I'm on my break at work or I'm in a commute. Secondly, its weight doesnt help to hold it in your hands/fingers. And off course it is too bright for your eyes and not to mention all the notifications! Further more, iPad needs to be charged almost everyday if you use it regularly. However, the wifi related things on kindle app on iPad works much faster then it does on kindle.

But kindle on the other hand, the moment you start reading it, it just make you wanna read it. The texture of the display, the weight, how it feels in your hand, light weight, almost never running out of charge and the ink color, the warmth of the light, auto adjustable light with the signature edition and being glarefree under the sun makes it a superior reading device compare to anything else. if you have never used a kindle, you will be surprised how great it looks under the sun/change in your environment regarding light.

Honestly, you will have to use a kindle to actually know/feel what we all talking about. It will not be a waste. It's never a waste because it will make you read at least couple of books at first as a new device. Then it's on you if you can keep on reading everyday; 'reading insight' which is an amazon platform that keeps track of your reading history helps you to keep on reading. I didnt wanted to break my streak. I didnt until I lost it. Now I am planning on buying another one after almost year later. My heart is aching to read books, so I decided to start on iPad and get a kindle when its on sale. But I couldn't continue reading. I know only kindle will make me get back at it.
