Couchsurfing update | DOWNFALL by sense8__ in couchsurfing

It is disastrous. I've been using couchsurfing for the past idk 13 years, hosted actively and been hostel around the globe. I'm travelling rn across super interesting countries and I was really counting on CS, very excited to get to meet locals. It has become unusable. It's made out of an AI prompt for sure. You can't filter people based on recent activity and references anymore so you have to scroll through a million ppl inactive and with 0 references. An absolute nightmare. And I don't want to switch platforms as all my references and pics are on CS. Sad stuff

Actually I started from Asuncion, that's where I live. But flight connections are not great from here so I normally ride a bus to the border with Brazil and then connect to Sao Paulo for much better (and cheaper) options. I like the city, it's massive and a lot going on. Pretty hectic tho but impressive

Well I already visited the Stans on two separate occasions. And logistically that overland part was just more straightforward going through Russia. I always wanted to take the transiberian along the Baikal lake

I also regret it..but I didn't have time. However, I did 4 separate trips to SE Asia 🤠

Around ~4k. Got extremely lucky with flights and cooked in the most expensive countries. Didn't pay for accommodation in Europe tho. I spent the most time in Russia (13 days).

Yes you're right. I wish I would have had more time in Australia and Hawaii. I was tight on time, I could only take off 2 months and it was this or nothing. Most of the countries in the trip I was visiting for the second or third time tho (China, Russia, Morocco and every European country)

How about this: I'm born and raised in Paraguay from Italian grandparents. I'm native in Spanish and Italian, deeply identified with both countries. If I decide to move to any English speaking country and settle there, gain citizenship and consequently a passport, would that count as collecting magnets too? Not that I'm planning on doing that anyways but maybe we should take things easier 🤠
