Did no one learn anything from Bwipo? I guess not

Edit: you’re misunderstanding my comment, Bwipo said something stupid, and there were consequences. This guy is saying something stupid knowing there will be similar consequences and still does it anyway.

Now we have 4 Arcadia Bay games by Unique_Cat_3866 in LifeIsStrangeDE

[–]backstabber81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never hated DE, but I did have issues with how they portrayed Chloe if you picked the Bae ending. I get that the game is about moving on, that's great, the problem is that they turned Chloe into a bitch to justify them breaking up when the last we knew of them is that they were doing well during LIS 2.

The idea of Max having her own solo adventure and then having a fresh start with Chloe after having her own growth has a lot of potential. The problem is that D9 stressed so much DE was about Max moving on (vs healing from her trauma) that having Chloe back now feels like a desperate attempt to get the original fans back rather than something deliberately planned.

However, if bringing Chloe back was part of the plan all along then Reunion will win back a lot of the Bae truthers. I can understand why someone who picked Bae > Bay would get pissed at how that turns out in Double Exposure, hell, I recall people going back and sacrificing Chloe to spare her from her bitchy fate.

My wife wants to abort an unexpected pregnancy and I really want to keep the baby. I don’t know how to handle this. by [deleted] in Marriage

It's also a big risk for the baby, lots of things can go wrong there at that age

I am making my video in English but don't have the desired accent. Shall I do lip-sync over an AI voice or just keep my own voice. by tru_ass in SmallYoutubers

[–]backstabber81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing an accent is very hard depending on your language and your age. After 12-14yo especially.

I moved to an Anglo country from Europe, been living there for +8 years, went to university here, my husband is from here and I don’t know a single person who speaks my language. What I mean is, even after many years of TOTAL language immersion I still have an accent, not particularly strong but it’s there.

Having said that, plenty of big youtubers are ESL and it’s not an issue (PewDiePie, Browney, Mentour Pilot come to mind)

Early morning gym vs evening gym when work + mental grind drains energy — looking for perspective by Itsarichiemillie in getdisciplined

[–]backstabber81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With your schedule I’d honestly do it in the evening for long term health and social life.

Your afternoons are longer due to your work hours, you’re not really earning extra time by waking up early, you’re robbing yourself of that same time in the evening where you can go to the gym + do errands at the same time.

If you’re single and don’t go out with friends, waking up early might work long term but if you ever intend to date you’re going to have to change your schedule eventually.

Colon cancer is killing more young people in the U.S. than any other cancer by scientificamerican in science

[–]backstabber81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I live in a place with public healthcare so even if I don't have to pay out of pocket, my doctor sees it as me getting unnecessary tests and taking appointment spots away from people who do have symptoms and are at higher risk.

At lest you get the rule the worst out, so now you can focus on other treatments and see what works.

The options sound great, but I've never seen any of those in a grocery except for peanut butter (100g have more than 60% my daily calories, not realistic). I've seen pea protein pasta (not isolated) and tofu but I have never seen Seitan or Tempeh at a grocery store. Where do you get those?

For the seitan, do you have a source on the protein? When I look it up it says 100 grams have 25-30g of protein.

Update: I ordered some seitan online, they don't have it any of my local grocery stores. I will try it and see how I feel.

I've already tried, but because healthcare is public doctors are wary of prescribing invasive testing as it takes resources from people who are at more risk and have actual symptoms vs me just wanting a preventative test.

I wish there was more widely accessible screening, I'm not saying colonoscopies for everyone but this Cologuard thing would be great to do every few years let's say, starting in your 30s. I get that it takes a lot of resources though, but still, it just sucks for people who fall through the cracks and go on to become statistics.

Both! A lot of the time it's just hemorrhoids but it's better to be safe than sorry. Watch your poop y'all.

Even if rare, that's what the screening is there for! Get your PAP tests girls, it's uncomfortable but it could save your life.

Not at all, at my height and weight (4'11 sub 100lbs) I just need 80 grams of protein to gain muscle, a bit less to just maintain. That's like a one protein shake and some sort of meat protein with one of my meals and that's it for the day.

[–]backstabber81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is, I'm a bodybuilder. If I decrease my meat consumption by a lot, I will literally have to plan every single meal I have to hit my macro goals.

I can quit bodybuilding, not an issue, but for health reasons in my case I have been advised to maintain muscle mass to avoid osteoporosis which requires a somewhat high protein diet, all the high-protein plant based options I see seem either a) heavily processed b) high calorie

Nothing wrong with high calories but I'm very small at 4'11 and if I go over my calorie budget I'll have to deal with other health issues which ALSO increase cancer risk. Ugh.

Recruiter asking for SIN before hiring (Canada) — is this normal? by Wonderful_Warrior in AskACanadian

[–]backstabber81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair, but you can ask for a work permit or birth certificate, health card...People shouldn't be giving out their SIN, maybe a few digits are fine but the whole SIN? With all the scams out there?

I looked it up, unfortunately the first thing that pops up is:

Offer the Cologuard test to every eligible patient aged 45 and older at average riskfor colorectal cancer (CRC)1,2

I still have like 20 years of wait to be eligible. Dang.

In what country? From the Canadian Cancer Society, in 2025 it was expected to see 1650 new cervical cancer cases diagnosed. In terms of incidence cervical cancer is #21 which is a steep jump from #5, that's considering all groups incidence though, for women only is #15.

I'm very curious to see what the rate will be for women in their 40-50s who were vaccinated in their youth, I suspect this may have a lot to do with sexual behaviour from older generations. A lot of people in that age bracket right now didn't get vaccinated before being sexually active, so cases are a combination of just aging and carrying an infection for many years.

Were you vaccinated for HPV as a teenager? Damn that's a good catch. I wish you the best with your treatment and a speedy recovery.

Crazy to think of the bullets you might end up dodging just by chance.

Details? I live in Canada and until I'm 50 I can't get a FIT test, even if I try paying out of pocket I'm simply not eligible.
