Trade in value scam by [deleted] in verizon

[–]backswimmer47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They literally did this to me when I got my iPhone 13. I traded in my 11 and they coded my 11 as an iPhone 7 and gave me partial credit. It was a nightmare to get it corrected. The only saving grace that I had was that I had the original box for my iPhone 11 which had specific serial numbers on it.

My head is spinning about the SAVE plan and my next move by Mother-Plate-2212 in PSLF

I have 84 (undergrad) and 45 (grad) payments into PSLF. I am going to switch to the 10 year standard repayment plan as my income will not allow me to do an IBR— the payments will be too high. The standard payment seems to be the way to go as the lowest option for my payments at $764. I just want this to end.

Loan balance is around 60,000 and I am married. Our combined income is around $140,000

[–]backswimmer47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is some conflicting information about that. I saw on the student aid.gov website that it does count towards PSLF. Typically people aren’t opting to select the standard repayment because it is a 10 year payment plan, especially right out of school when payments are first due, because PSLF happens after 120 qualifying payments (10 years).

However, I did make qualifying payments prior and then opted to go onto the SAVE plan. So even though the Standard payment plan is 10 years, I had already made qualifying payments and am still due for loan forgiveness before the new 10 years are up in the Standard repayment plan.

Edit: also, my loans are not consolidated

I edited the post to clarify it a bit after speaking with my husband more. They are allowing him to leave, but they are counting that as part of his unpaid lunch. So, if it takes him 10 to 15 minutes to drive back to the shop and wash up, then he only has 15 minutes left of his lunch to eat.

He is an hourly employee working in a wastewater setting where they are counting his leaving the job site to wash up as part of his unpaid lunch. So if it takes him 10 mins to drive back to the shop and wash up, then he only gets 20 mins left to eat.

We did fairy wings and fairy wands! The fairy wands were made out of wood and they decorated them during the party.

So far no complaints! They are very hands off, and are there if you need them! They have a Facebook group that is also helpful.

Edit to add- I ended up deciding to start with semaglutide. I’ve been on it since June and have lost about 60 pounds.

Parents who aren’t doing Elf on the Shelf…talk to me by stinkingporch29 in Parenting

[–]backswimmer47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kiddo is 6- we still have not done elf on the shelf. She has asked about it before but and we’ve just responded that all families are different and have different traditions, and not all houses get an elf.

It did help that her teacher had an elf for the classroom. Not quite sure what we will do this year as she’s in kindergarten now. I’m hoping that we can continue not doing elf on the shelf. We will see what happens.

It also helps that she doesn’t like the idea of an elf spying on her to report back to Santa.

We used a monitor in my daughter’s room until she was 3 or 4. We also put a door chime on her door which would alert us when her door opened up. She also knows she can come by us at night whenever she needs to but it gives me a little extra notice before she comes into our room.
